What's new

Clinton will win easily

Here's another side story to consider - Clinton is down about a million votes with still millions of votes to count in California, Washington and Oregon - all deep blue states.

There's a fair chance Clinton might win the popular vote.

Ugh.

The prognosticator....

Clinton is now up by about 200K votes. Man what a kick in the nads.

Umm, she seemed to look devastated to me. Strong enough to hold it down but devastated.

Wow, I didn't get that at all. She seemed buoyant. I think she was reflecting on those who helped her. She may have even been relieved to not have to deal with the ****show that a win would have inevitably brought about.

Dems playing the blame game will result in another loss in 2020 if they don't understand the real reason why people didn't vote for hilldog.

Honestly if Gary Johnson was in the debate Hilary would have won. She should have invited him. Trump had his supporters but he also had a lot of people voting against a Clinton SCOTUS. The truth is that a lot of people that were going to vote for GJ bought into the idea that it would be wasting their vote. They still wanted change and they tended to lean republican. Many voted for Trump.

I think she wanted to win. I don't think she was at all relieved that she lost.

weird take dude

Is it possible that some of those feelings are justified though? Especially the international communities feelings. I mean if you are from a different country it would appear (right or wrong) that america chose a racist, sexist, egotistical, unqualified, narcissistic bully as their leader.

Feelings of all kind from all sorts of people are justified. I just really hate it when people shame the nation. Nothing good comes from heaping shame on people. 8 years of Obama spoonfeeding shame to America has brought on the rise of Trump.

Funny, Trump used shaming the nation as one of his central themes. What do you think Make America Great Again means?

Guess it depends on the lens you are looking through.

I took #MAGA to mean bring back American pride, which had vanished under Obama.

My gripe with Obama was always that I wanted him to be the President of the United States, not the President of the world.

Trump won Utah, right? That means that a majority of Mormons voted for Trump. What is small minded about my pointing that out? And you just said that they hid their true feelings for fear of reprisal. Couldn't they stand on their convictions? Bottom line is Mormons voted for the most immoral man ever to run for President.

Pretty debatable. LBJ was a pretty awful guy, Kennedy was no saint, obviously there's Bill Clinton. Most of these people running aren't what anybody would consider "good" people.

Having a black president and a woman running this year brought on Trump. Exit polls are showing this was a backlash to those facts and an uprising from the uneducated white and mostly males.

The uprising of both Trump and Bernie show two things: 1 is that people are not happy about the direction we were heading as a country and want change, also why Obama was so popular his first election. I've felt things are trending upward but clearly many don't feel that way. This also shows that our country isn't well educated and does not research statements, we buy into hype and believe what is posted on social media and use that as our main source of news.

Oh give me a break. Trump didn't win bc Obama is black and bc Hillary is a woman. Are there some people that voted that way? Of course. Just like there were people that voted for Obama bc he's black, and just like people voted for Hillary bc she's a woman. Trump won bc people want something to change. The middle class is shrinking. The poor aren't advancing. Our healthcare system sucks. This isn't a race/gender issue for the majority of us.

That's a common and somewhat reasonable gripe. However Trumps message was not that. I've watched most his ads and listened to his rally speeches. His number one thing was the sad state of affair our country is in. He talked about war, crime, being over run with immigrants and painted a bleak picture of America and the world. He would then talk about how his policies could improve this country and end with his slogan.

Good news is whoever runs against Trump next cycle can reuse his slogan and recycle all his hats and they might actually make sense.

I agree that not everyone voted for the same reason. I agree there are problems, I would disagree with middle class suffering that is claimed. The standard of living for the middle class has improved but that is besides the point. Exit polls have shown why and who are the people who voted the way they did better than anecdotal evidence can. I'm positive my reasons for voting and your reasons for voting are different than others and may or may not represent the average voter.
