Coach Q's Offense Next Season

I'm really hoping that with the addition of Rubio and some greyhounds like Mitchell, Griffin and ONeale that we get out on the break a little more. Beyond that, nothing changes as far as ball distribution, playing inside out, the QS playbook etc.; save for the fact that it will be Hood, Johnson, Mitchell and possibly Ingles or Sefolosha getting those iso calls when the play breaks down.

That Jason Kidd video reminds me how great it would be if the Jazz had a player like a prime Shawn Marion. Not sure where we'll find one of those...

Our bench will run a decent amount with Exum and Mitchell I bet. I'm also guessing they will put on full court pressure on whoever brings the ball up for the other team.

I'm not sure the base offense changes much, but I sure hope we run more. It just makes too much sense.

Run.

But I assume it'll be whatever caters to Rudy the best, I still think we will see a lot of 1/2 court offense and PnR. Would like to lose the passing around the top of the key at the start of each offensive possession though.

Lets push the ball more.

With players like Rubio, Mitchell, Burks, Hood, and TS we need to get up and down the court.

Plus, lets have some fun this year, why not!?!

Hopefully, it looks something like this...

Kidd is overall the most similar to Rubio (excellent both on transition and half-court offense, off-the-charts BBIQ, tough D, rebounding, poor shooting early on his careers), so pretty much that, with a little extra flair. With Ricky at the helm, Gobert at the 5 and the young guys filling the lanes, it's hopefully going to be Run n' Jump, a no-look / behind-the-back / between-the-legs / lob fest mixed with some brilliant pnr action.

With the addition of Ricky Rubio and the departure of Hayward I think that our offensive strategy is due for a shift. How do you think Quin Snyder will adapt his offense to our new players next season?

I definitely see us running in transition more this season, but I'm wondering if our slow it down, find the mis-match, then go to work half court offense will be shaken up a bit. I think in the past we have relied on our wings for a lot of playmaking, but with Rubio you really want the ball in his hands as he doesn't seem like a guy you have to guard tightly off the ball. Also with the addition of Udoh I'm wondering if we play Favs at the 4 more this season and have some traditional two bigs lineups?

Hopefully, with Udoh aboard, Favs doesn't get much, if any time at the 5. And that's a great thing. Let him slim down a bit and play the 4 full-time. May keep him healthier.

Hasn't Favors said for a while that he sees himself as a 5, not a 4?
Do you think he wants to play the 4?

Tony Jones said on ine SL tribune podcast that Derrick Favors sent him a text last week saying he can average 20/10 next year. I love the confidence... now lets see it.
