What's new

Congrats to Jeremy Evans, 2012 Slam Dunk Champion!!!

I thought there were some excellent dunks, Budingers first, Evans 2nd, and Williams turnaround, don't know what you all expect them to do.
I don't believe that George couldn't see through the blindfold, I guess no one else did either or he prob would have won.
That was Buddinger, IINM, and yes, you could tell when he kept adjusting it the 2nd time that it was not completely over his eyes. Still difficult, but he could see out the bottom a bit.

Top Dunks, IMO:

1. Evans with 2 balls - even though it took him 2 chances.
2. George's Tron dunk.
3. Buddinger over P-Diddy. Would have given George the nod going over Hibbert but it took him 3 tries.
4. Williams 360 after catching off the side of the board.
5. Evans' Mailman tribute.

George's last dunk was nice, but it took too many tries.

I do have to say that Evans' first dunk had a lot of promise with the camera. I would have preferred him to try to get the biggest vertical leap he could and dunk the ball. Fans I think would have appreciated that more than what eventually happened.
I think that was the idea. The ball just bounced too close to the rim and he wasn't able to get off a better dunk. I almost wish he had missed it so a 2nd attempt would have shown us how high he could have elevated.

I think it is awesome that he won a text-vote. The small market disadvantage could not even keep Jeremy from his destiny!

Hell ya!! Go Jeremy!!

Update: *Portland just offered him a 4 year deal worth $50M, $22M in the first season*
I think we should match. Where else can we find a guy who makes 80% of his FG's?! It's so obvious...if the Jazz want to make the playoffs, Evans - not Jefferson - needs to play and be the #1 option on offense.

Well, you had competitors from Utah, Houston, Indiana and Minnesota. SLC may very well have been the "big" market in this one. Certainly the one with the most loyal fans. Gordon "Haywood" again got some love from Barkley and company. Hopefully they're right about him having a bright future.

Yeah, I'm sure Utah is a lot bigger than one of the five largest cities in America.

I love going on clutch fans after beating the Rockets in any sort of basketball event. They are having an absolute meltdown

Are they saying he could see through the blind fold??

Some are, surprisingly enough.

I laughed at their overall discontent when they saw Evans put on a Malone jersey. Never knew that the Rockets hated Malone that much.

Lol someone on the Houston Rockets forum said this made me laugh "I thought Evans looked like a Homo hanging on the rim and dry humping air. The Malone jersey confirms that I was right."

Changed the thread title, and frankly while I thought it was a weak contest his two ball dunk was by far the best dunk of the contest.

Nice to see someone from the Jazz win something.
