Evans' second dunk was outstanding - but IMO he's not wellsuited for dunk contests. He's a better game dunker because of his size, length, and how quickly he can get off the ground. He gets incredible elevation very quickly, and that's a huge advantage in the limited time he gets on the court.
In a dunk contest, at 6-9 Evans is actually at a disadvantage because of his height. If a 2-guard soars over Kevin Hart with his arm behind his head like the Mailman - that gets more of a response than Evans because at 6-9 it doesn't look as impressive with a taller guy doing it.
Overall, unless you can get guys like DeRozan and physical freaks who can soar like LeBron and Blake Griffin into it - IMO the dunk contest will continue not to live up to the hype in the future years. At this point you have too many gimmicks and not enough of the best athletes who can perform and execute the most difficult dunks.
That aside, great for the Jazz but most importantly great for Jeremy to win. Dunk contests aside, he's an athletic freak as a basketball player and it's great that more NBA fans finally got a chance to see some of that.
