What's new

Conley is a chemistry problem and we should trade him

Jazz just need to hit their open 3s at a decent rate and not commit live ball TOs that result in fastbreaks opportunities.

It's still kind of weird that we were not hitting the open shots against them like in the playoffs. Maybe it comes from Houston's physicality and aggresivity on the perimeter that they rush the shots even when they re getting the open looks. And in those games against the Rockets we seem to be always chasing the lead from the first quarter which gives them the confidence, they start getting hot and we get nervous and go cold.

This was part of it... teams that are down a few players or that are just inferior can be dangerous if they get a little confidence. Some guys play better when there is seemingly nothing to really lose.

We also just played dumb. We fouled guys on the perimeter on things that really didn't matter much... we were in the penalty with like 10 minutes left in the fourth... Joe picked up a stupid one... Royce decided he was going to go straight through PJ Tucker... Tony Bradley was late and fouled a bunch (one of them was total BS, but others were legit).

We went full stupid and did not shoot the ball well enough to compensate for it.

The only reason to get rid of Conley is to be cheap. The teams highest potential involves him. If you want a ring you need Conley
I agree. We need 2018/19 Memphis Conley. Hopefully, that guy shows up because 2019/20 Conley could be the reason we don't go as far as we should.

Crowder would help us more at 25% the price than Conley has this season. I really hope we don't regret that trade forever......

I think Conley is shackling this team. Screws up the rotation that was already buzzing sabotages Clarkson and Mudiay's minutes and f'in it up.

He is a nice guy but we have to admit our error and do it soon. Trade him for a back up C and another weapon or 2. He costs too much and is an overly injured washed up has been.

I still think if we are dead *** serious about winning a title we make a move for CP3. That team has played well, but what is the future? They gonna roll out the brinks truck for an older Danilo Gallinari to make the 7th 8th seed again next year? CP is still available imo and teams are too afraid of that final year... everyone thinks they getting Giannis.

Here is what I think a trade could look like...

http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=ws8ta6t

OKC gets a bunch of space they can use next year to sign and trade Gallo and get assets for bad salary... they are completely free of the last year of CP's deal. NY gets Conley for their garbage expirings and Bullock...DSJ doesn't have to be in the deal... I don't think he has trade value. NY can keep Morris, which they want to do, and add a vet that makes them more reputable to maybe finally land the big fish free agent the following year. Might be competitive next year finally.

We get a higher upside... we get 3 and D guy for the bench... we get a backup center that can protect the rim. We end up paying a bunch of tax in the final year of CP's deal if Rudy and DM get their full max extensions. It'd be around $25M in tax... that's a lot, but wouldn't you rather burn that money while giving yourself the best chance at a title the next two years. Also, a lot can happen in 2 years... maybe CP is still playing well... maybe Rudy doesn't need the full super max. Like remember when we were all "you can't add salary cuz the core 4 needs teh monies" and then we pissed away excess cap space on one year deals year after year.

Its the all in move if you are really considering trading Mike.

If he can accept being a 6th man I'm 100% ok with him. We don't need him to be a borderline all star anymore. We need him to run the 2nd unit, score 14 a game, be efficient on offense and functional on D. Thats all we need. Now to date, he has not done any of those things but new team, missing 6 weeks, etc ... have hampered that. I have faith he can be a vital piece of a very good team. No way he continues this horrendous play all year. Still trying to figure out what we need and how he can fit into the team.

CP's such a great pick and roll player and has such a high basketball IQ that I don't really see any reason why he wouldn't be a fit in Quins system.

I am of the same thought!!! All I am asking is that Conley be an average PG. He is not.

I hate his stupid nerdy dumb *** face but yeah, I'd love to get CP3. Problem is I feel like he'd take away from Donovan. He would want to run the point 30 min a game.

I would hate make a trade with OKC that would take that contract off their hands 3 years down the line. Their future is already so bright with all of those picks and some good young players. This will help them be a tougher competitor when Rudy has more miles on him.

Not worth it unless CP3 puts us over the top now.
