Conspiracy Theory Corner

Like, if any of what I'm saying is slightly true, I think it would have to be done in a way that is seen as buy low. So you can't just promise Dunn you're going to pay him, because things might not materialize.

So no, I don't think Dunn signing elsewhere is a sign that this is definitely not happening

That could be said about 100 NBA players, ranked 26-125.: if you can teach them one more important skill they would move into the top 25.
No it can't....

And we aren't teaching Ingram anything he isn't physically capable of

OK, while we at it lets also get Poole and Lavine and teach them how to play winning basketball. They are physically capable of that too.

Or, if we are desperately looking for teaching opportunities, lets just teach Keyonte how to play defense: he is surely capable but simply does not give a damn and neither does the coach.

Man you are really annoying

Ingram isn’t just some random guy. When we talk about him improving, we’re talking about him doing something he’s already done before. Ingram has taken steps in his game everywhere except his 3 point shooting. It’s one thing to say “if this guy could shoot 3’s”, it’s another to say “he did shoot 3’s he just needs to do it more”.

The biggest concern with Ingram IMO is his ongoing health.

If we wanted to be competitive this year, I still think we would have kept Dunn, but maybe he just wasn't interested.

The more I look in to the 2026 draft, the more I like it. I think it could be better than 2025. Maybe Ainge thinks we can do a 1 year push to see how good of a team we can put together this year while keeping a 2026 tank opem?

IMO, getting Ingram isn’t about being competitive next year….its just about getting Ingram for multiple years going forward. It’s the same logic as keeping Lauri.

If we truly wanted to tank head first into tanking hard for 25 and 26, Lauri likely cannot be a part of that. Seems as though the Jazz have made their decision on that, and Lauri has a an extreme amount of sway in terms of staying.

I think it's possible that we went in to the off season with the goal of putting together a competitive team and then when we struck out on Bridges we pivoted to being bad, but now that we can't find good deals for our vets and Ingram is cheap, maybe we pivot again to being competitive.

If Ingram is truly available for just Collins and a first, then that is probably worth the gamble. It has a chance of going very well and I can see Ingram, Sexton, and Lauri being great next to each other. If it doesn't work out then you pivot to the 2016 draft class.

If you do the Ingram deal, then you must also trade Kessler. Make Flip the starting 5 or the backup 5. We would be very weak at the 5 and would lose games easily. You get Ingram and you could still be a bottom 5 to 10 team

IMO, the deal would be Kessler, Collins, and another first. That would put Ingram in the Siakam trade territory.

That's probably more fair and what NOP would be more likely to accept. I don't think I would be on board for that price, I still have a lot of hope for Kessler.

I’m not sure I’m in love with it….but I do find it interesting. I wonder what the follow up would be….are going to roll out Lauri, Sexton, and Ingram with a bunch of kids? Given Ingram’s health record, I’m not sure we even win more games with Ingram vs the duo of Collins/Kessler.

We know that the Jazz wanted Mikal and wanted him badly. I don’t think we wanted him badly to be a high level role player, I think the FO liked Mikal as a high usage key offensive player. Ingram is just better Mikal at being a leading option and is actually younger. There’s no reporting on this, but it stands to reason that if the Jazz wanted to go for Mikal…they would also have interest in Ingram.
