Corbin not expected to sign extension before season

Interesting that the team that didn't give the youth playing time until they earned it isn't giving a coach an extension until he earns it. Seems it's more of a team philosophy than a coaches philosophy.
 
Is this evidence that there is a God? Where are our resident atheist/agnostics to accept the divine proof?
 
Doesn't front office send a confusing message to Corbin?
He's in a no win situation right now.
Jazz FO wants team to play terrible for a high draft pick.
Corbin doesn't get rewarded for sacrificing his won lost record for good of team.
Not sure what this means.

He's lucky he's even employed as an NBA coach making whatever he's making. If I were him I'd just milk it for all I could until someone with sense in the front office woke up.
 
He is in a no win situation, unless they win a lot then he wins. Which is actually a win situation.
 
Isn't Lindsey on the record for saying this year Corbin won't be judged on win losses but on defensive improvements and other internal metrics?

I am hoping this means they are serious about judging him on how he deals with a young team and what he can wring from the youngsters, and not just win-loss record.

I can envision this meaning properly preparing the young guys to take away a teams best offensive options. I think the FO understands we will be an offensively limited team.

I think they finally understand that the best teams are almost always elite defensively and that out-gunning your opponent rarely is the path of a champion.

I think it means that in spite of rhetoric to the contrary and what many on this site may think, the FO was not happy with Ty's coaching last year. If he doesn't show dramatic improvement in his coaching this season, he won't be back.
 
I thought media day was mostly just signing memorabilia like game balls and jerseys. Why would they want him to sign an extension?

Lindsey already said Corbin would be evaluated on how well they played defensively.
