What's new

D-Will and Coming back to Utah.

Yes. But I'm a slow afoot center in a sub-PG body. I like to ball, though.

I am called the "chubby point guard" by those that I ball with.

This morning played with a group of 3 guys over 35 and a 13 year old playing against some guys from the local high school team. We won all 5 games. I'm not gonna lie, it was a lot if fun and I couldn't take that smile off my face.

(I feel likely tritely disagreeing with a small point you made here, and then making that the subject of a pointless 4 or 5 post exchange wherein I appear like a level headed guy. That'd be a totally good start.)

Actually, you were awake when you typed the other posts. I just don't buy all the arguments about sleepwalking and typing while dreaming.... ... ... ...

I am so not that smart. Wat?

I played pretty well up until I was about 25 or 26. My game resembled a poor-man's Andre Miller: never that athletic, but a deceptively quick first couple of steps; misdirections; floaters; etc. I played against Andre a few times, actually. He was/is a hell of a lot stronger than me. I'm way past those days, unfortunately. I shoot better now because I have to.

Go with it. We have to take every V we can get nowadays (not calling us the same age, btw). My 13 year old is a PG and played an undefeated season this past year (I coached, proud papa) and he hit the game winning 3 at the buzzer .. that is soooo much better than anything 'I' could do. My 13 year old is also waaay classier than me. I'm an on-the-court trash talking SOB but he is a keep his nose down and do the work kinda kid. Learning a lot from him .. except here, of course.

So is that a yes to a Jazzfanz game? Bring your son, it would be a lot if fun.

PS, I'm not the trash talking type. I like to play under the radar.

So....does anyone on this board actually play basketball? Just curious.

Played A LOT from age 16 to 25, now not so much, but still love to.

I would welcome Deron back for $10 mil a year. And don't fool yourself by thinking he didn't run Jerry off, although it took more than just Deron. Jerry's wife, and I believe the woman (always listen to the women), says it was 100% related to the situation with Deron. What difference does it make? He was done in Utah, and was looking for different opportunities.

Having said that, how awesome would it be to have someone that can set up and run an offense, hit the right man in the right spot, yet create his own shot and hit it when needed? He's not coming back, and it's just as well. His Diva-ness, and maintenance of it, got bigger than the game and imo, he will never again (because of injuries) be the player he was a short 3+ years ago. He will however, continue to make massive improvements on his golf game from when he was a rookie.

Sure, I'm in .. I just suck .. but I TALK a BIG game. My son can fill in from there.

I've always considered myself a player in that mold though. I'm absolutely atrocious on offense, but I like to think that I play intense defense and always run the court.
