the experts are saying he compares to those players, braugh.

Yeah and same experts said Bargnani and Tzikitishvili compares to Dirk. **** compares to S.Livingston at best.
Heck I could see way more speed and explosiveness in D.Shroeder. How is he doing BTW?

Trust me I do not have anything against him, looks like good kid, plays hard, comes from great family. But whenever there are some international prospects which may end up with Jazz I try to look at as much tape or games as possible to see if they are worth the risk taking. And when I watch **** video's I just don't see anything exciting worthy top 5 pick. To me he is just ...average, I guess. There is nothing special about him except length for position. Yes he can pass and he can score vs inferior players. He failed to do that vs M.Smart , A. Gordon and team USA in U-19. He played poorly in semifinal and bronze medal game in U-19 championship as well. That should be red flag right there. He is a prospect with huge risk. I would be ok with him with 23d pick, not with 5th.
And I think Burke will be better PG, so why bother at the end ?

Exum is gunna be the best player ever, even better that Aaron Gordon.

Exum's first step is unreal, on par with Tyreke Evans, meaning one of the best you will ever see from a 6'6 player

describing his first step id consider using terms like "god given ability" and "force of nature", id also say Exum knows how to set up defenders for the blow by, he can in-and-out dribble to set up the cross, you also see him using multiple hesitation moves to leave defenders in the dust. Id also say for a righty, his first step to his left also looks electric

id say a great deal of Exum's appeal revolves around that first step.

Reminds me of a longer version of Leandro Barbosa.

Maybe Bargnani talentwise, but not everyone has Dirk like work-ethic...

Again, what's so fascinating about this play? Looks good vs slow, short defender with miniscule wingspan - take it to the equation and it becomes average. Where was it when he played USA?

His speed numbers at the combine were near the top of the pile. I guess that should count for something?

I think this was the one where I saw some of his crossover moves. I know it's not against NBA defenses, but I was still impressed.

This vid makes me think he's a carbon copy of Burks. Weaknesses are very similar. Atleast Burks knows he's not a pg, and neither is Exum in my opinion.

I'm salivating over Exum like a hot dog on a humid day.

Like a hot dog salivates? Are you sure it wasn't you that wrote this article, literally?

Burks is much more athletic and better at finishing at the rim. **** is better passer.

how many dribbles did he take to cover that much ground, that quickly from a standstill... that appears average to you?

you are clown for taking a stance against his first step, from the footage ive seen and numerous articles and scouting reports on him, you couldent be more wrong.

no where do i see anyone questioning his first step... but you. find me a respected opinion questioning his first step

if your the whistleblower on his first step you should have a preponderance of evidence... wheres that at?

until then what your talking about should be treated as Humor, Fantasy, or perhaps Children's Literature.

Why he did not use that "quick first" step vs USA? He could not do squat. 7pts, 0 asts, 4 TO when finally facing real defense. What happened to his shooting and decision making in medal games? Answer - it crumbled like the house of cards. 2-10 3 pts? 4-10 FT in one game and 6-13 FT in other? And that's the leader who is worth taking 5th? Dude disappeared playing vs juniors, just wait when he sees real NBA men, he would be spending more time on his *** on the floor than using that "quick first step"

It is called eye test. I am not arguing that he has long stride which helps him to beat some slower defenders of the dribble. Won't work in NBA though.
I honestly would like to eat some crow if **** will turn into more than regular starter. Dude has bust written all over him for me. I really really hope he will be taken before Jazz pick. It would be a nightmare for me to see him on Jazz team. I am not sure I could stomach one more player I hated prior the draft ending up on the Jazz. Heck, even McDermott would be easier to accept.

Combine means squat. I look at his numbers in real games vs M.Smart, A.Gordon and team USA. 7pts, 2reb, 0ast, 4TO. That's telling me more than what he did in combine. But if you are such a combine fan how about McDermott who is slow stiff outjumping **** by 2 inches?

I like Exum. He looks to be a playmaker. Looks like a Livingston type dude. He's not like Burks because all he needs to do is draw one extra guy and he knows what to do. Don't know if he'd be the number one playmaker for the team initially (over a Burke pnr with an offseason's maturation), but if he's not already it won't take much time. A well-spaced offense with Exum at the reigns could be lethal. Playing with Burke would not be an issue at all, and would be ideal given the team's current construction.

This reminds me of critics of LeBron before he went to Miami. Sometimes your team just sucks. But wait, I forgot. In another thread I was told that great players are always great no matter who their teammates were. Huh.

Lol.
Lebron was great on that cleveland team.

His teammates were not though.
How is that even possible? If lebrons teammates sucked then lebron would only be able to suck as well right?
