What's new

Dante Exum everybody!

I love him. Saw some dogging on him in the game thread and just SMH. Can we just never be happy? Here is what espn had to say about him in their day 2 grades. We should be very excited about him folks.

Dante Exum, Utah Jazz | Grade: A-
Hype machine, activate! Comparisons to a young Kobe Bryant, Penny Hardaway and Brandon Roy were flying around after Exum’s first game, and his displays of smooth athleticism and skill were often breathtaking. Although there were better overall performances elsewhere, no one flashed more star potential than Exum did. With his vision and first step, he has lead guard written all over him.

Really though, the plays he was making were nice. That video is really impressive. I think Gobert was telling Exum that he should have thrown the ball up to him for an ally pop too.

Early days but looks very encouraging and good for us-for now more combo guard, but I can see him taking starting PG late upcoming season

ESPN:

Dante Exum looked like the future on Saturday night. Sure, it's only one game against a fairly weak Philadelphia Summer League roster, but from the moment he stepped on the court, Exum projected the presence of someone who should have been picked number one overall.

He slashed through the lane comfortably, and at a speed rarely seen for someone at that size. There was a fluidity to his attacking that conjured memories of young Dwyane Wade and young Penny Hardaway. In a setting where many players are selfish with the ball, Exum focused on driving and dishing.

Who knows what the future holds for this kid, or whether he'll ever improve that low slung quasi set shot? What's apparent from the start is he has the tools to be great. Based on that alone, Jazz fans have to be happy right now.

He is fast. If we can get out and push the tempo this year there will be a few plays a game that will make you pinch yourself.

This is really exciting, sure it just highlights from a SL game but he is just oozing with potential. At the fifth pick we really got a steal here.

He's raw, but we saw flashes.
I think Exum will be worked in as a backup to Burke and Burks for this year. He needs to work on his shooting, handles, get his confidence up and get in NBA shape. By the trade deadline in 2016, I think Burke will be moved. Neto will slide in as the backup PG.

Give him a n off-season at P3. Yikes! He might be dunking on people at will by then.

I wonder about the effectiveness of P3. I think the week(s) all these guys are there would be much better spent just working on shooting. Year after year, I'm just amazed that the Jazz can't hit anything past 10 ft. They're the worst collection of shooters I've ever seen. And it appears it's due to some kind of contagion. Clark goes from MVP last summer to just another clanker this summer.

The game was **** horrible to watch. A few good plays from Exum, some flashes by Gobert to get the Jazz back in the game. But just putrid offense and shooting otherwise.

Quin has a LOT of work to do. Let's hope he's the development guru Lindsey thinks he is.

Or maybe along the lines of "Dude... they're gonna get it down low. Ain't nobody get it but me when it's up high"

Were they something like 3 for 28 from 3? lol, wow...that wont happen often..Hood looks so smooth also...he will hit much more often as he moves forward I believe..but yes, tonite was putrid as far as shooting
