Dante Exum vs Marcus Smart

I'm going with the guy D.L. chose. He makes a much more compelling argument than anyone here due to the fact he pulled this team out of the gutter.

There is more to player than TS. Smart has 10x bigger balls than Exum ever will grow. Exum = little baby deer. Smart = freaking honey badger.

Old fake news.

Exum has always played fearless defense and never look scared on that end of the court. Just because he deferred to better teammates when he was a rookie does not mean that he was scared, it means he was smart. Exum has been very aggressive offensively since pre-season last year. More aggressive than Smart.

Besides these are usually the reasons you come up for disliking him. You in a game thread where he was playing well said you still didnt like him because you thought he moved feminine and that bothered you.

Did not say I dislike him, I said it worries me because it looks like he may get hurt moving like that.

Because he moved "feminine?"
Yes, because he does not have proper balance, looks awkward and uncoordinated and keeps falling to the ground like sack of potatoes. As, I said he should invest some time in judo. First thing they teach - how to fall safely.

Because women are awkward, uncoordinated, have poor balance and dont know how to fall down?

lol. good one.
I genuinely dont know what you are trying to say. I dont really understand your complaint that he moves feminine or why that is a problem.

He does tend to be more finese in his movements than powerful. But he does show that power when he needs to, such as some of his dunks or blocks. I dont see that as a bad thing.

He is also very long and makes some of his movements look awkward. He reminds me of a young Gobert in that way. But he is learning his body better just like Gobert is and does. Their career paths are pretty similar. Obviously they play different positions. Gobert has been injured more but his injuries have luckily been not as long of recovery.

OMG, you guys are hilarious. Any time somebody starts comparing Exum to superior players ( Payton or Smart) and somebody disagrees its being labelled hater. Get over it. Nobody hates Exum. But truth is Smart is better and it is not even close. And do not bring me 14 game averages as example.

Dude you take every opportunity to bag him vehemently. Every opportunity. You’re soooooooo negative about him and it just gets old

I do like how hard Exum works in the off season. He is at a sports performance facility pretty consistently all summer.

Most gains in a new workout program are neurological in the first 6 weeks. Thats why going to P3 or wherever for a few weeks isnt all that beneficial. Mostly they are testing to see where the athletes are at and helping to teach them to move better, which is the largest benefit. This can help with injury prevention and efficiency.

But to really get gains with speed, strength, and injury prevention you need to do a good workout program for 3+ months.

Compare him to Derick Rose and I will be all over anybody who says Rose is better. I am just objective and calling things the way I see it.

I think most of us have a problem with the way you see it, and the fact you have to say it every chance you get. If we compared him to Rose you'd say nothing because you couldn't be bagging on Exum. Exum is not significantly worse than Payton or Smart, you see it as such and you are one of the only people in the world who see it that way. Those 2 guys are a little better than Exum at best. I'd not take either of them over Exum.

I'd take Royce O'Neale over Marcus Smart, honestly. O'Neale is nearly as good a defender, and he's a better shooter and less of a diva. Watching Marcus Smart shoot 2/11 in playoff games while taking important shots he shouldn't be taking should make anyone glad he's not on our team. Marcus Smart should play the role of a defensive specialist like Tony Allen and leave it at that.

Danny Ainge is probably just re-signing him hoping to trade him, while pretending his value is higher than it is. There's a reason no other team went after him. Like at all.

Dante has one or two offensive skills, and if he develops a third, he could be a very potent two-way player.

I really don’t mind Smart, he makes a lot of winning plays and can be a good piece on a winning team that can cover his dreadful offense. HEs certainly had a far better career than Exum this far but he is who he is now. And he’s an embarrassment with his flopping. If things go how many think they will Dante will be as good as him this season and completely eclipse him after than

Payton doesn’t belong is the same conversation as these two

Elfrid Payton isn't elite, or really even above average at anything I can think of. There's a reason he's going to his 3rd team already.

He is better passer and rebounder than both smart and exum. You guys are quick to forget that he dropped 29 pts on Jazz last year but you keep praising Exum as a future all star anytime he scores 10 pts+. Payton gets 2 tripple doubles at the end of last season- “nah he plays for Suns” ... Exum scores 22 pts in blow out loss - Superstar!!!!!!. Typical bias by fans.
