What kind of haul would it take to get Haliburton?

I would give up a 1/2 the picks we got from Gobert/Mitchell trades.
This. That would immediately take us to the next level. Haliburton and Lauri, that is a hell of a duo. One of the few dudes out there worth throwing a lot of assets at.

That said, no ****ing way they part with him. They would need a hell of a lot more than we can offer. He is a star, and emerging top 5 talent possibly. Pipe dream.

I would consider giving more. He is potentially gonna be a top 5 player in this league for real. He has more 15+ assist and 0 turnover games than anyone in the league over this and last season. He has insane step when he cuts into the basket, and his BBIQ and decissionmaking are off the charts.

This was the game against Lakers where they came back from 17 points behind with 9 minutes left, and its not even his best game:

Holy **** what’s up with Haliburton’s assist numbers? We should have traded for him last year.
He put up numbers last year too… Tyrese is so good. This is why I said they shouldn’t trade him last year. Even though it’s sort of working out they will regret it long term.

Not more that we can offer, but more than what we would like to offer for sure. His timeline with our current and upcoming talent is so aligned.

This game is a big one imo. If you are a serious playoff team you should win this game. The Clips game was nice and all but that was a schedule win… no PG, Kawhi or Powell on a back end of a back to back.

Yeah he is exactly the kind of player we need. Hell, he is the guy everyone needs and wants. Maybe if we dangled multiple firsts in this upcoming draft, especially considering where the wolves pick might end up, and Conely and Beasley and...and...and we might have a shot.

But realistically, no way in hell they let him go. Maybe if they had a GUARANTEE of landing Wemby, but beyond that, nope ain't happening.

You have to nab these guys right before they “pop”… otherwise you can offer the moon and it’s still a no go.

Sabonis, Jeremy Lamb, Justin Holiday and a 2nd rounder for Haliburton, Hield and Tristan Thompson. That was the price Indiana paid, right? That's crazy.

Their owner is 88… ain’t no way he wants to give up his young all star for picks that might be good in 5 years.

Yeah if we had been willing to trade Rudy last season we probably could have landed Tyrese.

Sabonis is good but unless you put a unicorn next to him in the front court there will be a ceiling on that team. Kings have been ****** so long that ceiling is likely a wild success.

Kind of the same with Lauri for us?
I would still trade Lauri for the right offer tho.
Similar. I’d move Lauri in the right deal. Tyrese has 1.5 more cheap years and then team control beyond that. So he’s got more value… has a higher upside too.

BTW I argued with Dan Clayton last year on why that trade was awful and he likely wouldn’t put up the per minute numbers I suggested… he’s blowing them away.

It was one of those deals that you go wait what? He was available and then go that’s all they got for him? Super weird.

Yeah but he’d be getting THT who’s entering his prime and who we all know is awesome.
