Bledsoe has to be the most overrated player on JF the last two years.
Its because we have an actual shot at a young athletic PG. Newsflash: Jazz aren't getting CP3.

Chris paul says Bledsoe is better than half the starting point guards in the league and is truly gifted defensively. I will take his analysis.
I truly believe a core of Deron and Boozer with wings that defend and shoot threes and a C that actually could protect the basket at all, they could've maybe snuck in a finals appearance. Or - gasp - a championship. I believe that team with the right breaks could do it. I don't believe a team soaring above the luxury tax with poor floor-spreading and no interior D could even capitalize on catching some breaks.I could be wrong, but I thought that if they had traded AK for almost anything and used those pieces to fill in for the mid-tier contracts (CJ, Korver, Brewer, and Milsap) that they might've survived the Memo Extension/injury mistake.
I thought the Jazz got too hung up on being 'loyal' to their guys in a league & system that punishes a team for being loyal to average players.
I get the sense that Lindsey feels no such loyalties.

Oh well.
Maybe you'll find out next season. Bulls trade Boozer to NJN for Humphries and filler. Jerry takes the Nets coaching job. CJ miles signs as a FA. Can Brook Lopez be considered a defensive center?

I think we were the shot blocking center away from that too. The ironic thing is that we would have won a title with the Mailman and Stock if we had a defensive anchor guy. Now we have one in Favors... but we don't have any stars.
I think the team with Deron, Boozer, Millsap, Korver and a good Center would have won the title. Okur would have been good too to make a stellar three big rotation.
I'm not sure if Dennis Lindsey is really the best fit for us after listening to parts of this interview .... I like the fact that he is honest and doesn't really hide anything but......... I didn't like the comments that were just at the start of our rebuild process ....that's just strange to think when we have all this tallent .. or maybe its a clue that were dumping all our free agents and going to have a scrub roster
You mean like a 7'4" shot blocker?

Has a Jazz FO member ever called Al Jefferson a black hole before?? I chuckled.
We had Fesenko, but Sloan refused to play him, had to have that vaunted offense. Corbin made the same mistake by focusing on Big Al, despite BA being the worst defensive C in the league.
We ARE at just the beginning of the rebuild. How many of our starters should be part of our future: 1/2 (if you count that Hayward started for part of the season). Of the 240 available mins/game, how many were taken up by guys who should be out the door (Jefferson = 33; Millsap = 30; Mo = 30; Foye =27; Marvin = 24; Tinsley/Watson = 18). So 162/240 = 68%. Jazz will/should be replacing 2/3rds of their total player minutes and 4 of 5 starters (if you count Gordon as a starter). Yeah, I'd say that qualifies as being at the very beginning of the process.I'm not sure if Dennis Lindsey is really the best fit for us after listening to parts of this interview .... Are you kidding me with the Fesenko love? Tell me, what has the guy done since he left the Jazz? Ummm...umm...Fes had a good rotations every once in a while. But he could never play in more than 8 min spurts without looking like he had just run a marathon. He was terribly out of shape. He matched up well against big, physical centers but was easily countered/neutralized by any who were the least bit athletic. We had Fesenko, but Sloan refused to play him, had to have that vaunted offense. Ever heard of a guy named Mark Eaton? He played with the Jazz for 12 seasons. Was the NBA defensive player of the year twice, led the league in blocks 4 times, with a career average of 3.5 blocks/per, was on the NBA All-Defensive 1st Team 3 times and on the 2nd Team 2 times. I seriously doubt Favors will ever rise to that level of defensive dominance. That said, Eaton was a HUGE liability (pun intended) on the offensive side. Jazz would park him in the high post and just have him stay out of the way. You can have a great defensive player, but if he isn't any good on the other end, you likely won't win a championship. Jazz had two superstars and they couldn't overcome Eaton, Well, him and the lack of a reliable SG (pre-Hornacek).I think we were the shot blocking center away from that too.
