Dennis Lindsey on Talkin Sports

So he doesn't like the term Core Four. Says it will be hard to keep them together.

It got me thinking that perhaps KOC's ability to assemble good talent has been a weakness when compared to the Spurs pattern, which was ironically based on the Jazz's pattern of getting a 1-3 guys to hold onto and shuffling all the pieces around them.

It could be that one of the troubles of the Boozer/AK era was that there was not a 'the guy'. They were too dependant on contributions from many players for success. And as the indivudual players and team had success it was costing more to keep the pieces in place. Eventually it got too expensive for the Jazz and the wheels fell off.

The spurs have kept Duncan as 'the guy' along with Parker & Ginobili but have shuffled through alot of role players. John & Karl were the building blocks and everything changed around them.

I wonder if Deron/Booze could have continued, or atleast ended differntly had the Jazz tried to lock them in as building blocks and reshuffled the deck around them. The first move would have been trading trading AK for a bunch of pieces. But Korver, Milsap, Harpring, could have all been casualties as well.

Moving Forward I wonder if Lindsey sees anyone on the Jazz as 'the guy' or if all the young players are in play for trades and changes.

The primary reason the wheels fell off the Deron/Boozer era is AK with the Memo extension being the dagger. It precipitated the Jazz letting Boozer walk, then trying to cobble in the squarest square into the roundest round hole, letting Matthews walk, signing Raja, then putting a poor product on the floor, putting huge stress between Deron and the organization, losing both Sloan and Deron, paying out the *** for a poor product, extending Ty (???), then doubling down on the square peg. Not to mention dumping Eric Maynor earlier than that.

That and the Jazz medical staff really seem(ed?) to suck*.

*From telling Boozer he didn't need arthroscopic surgery when he did to giving Memo a cortisol injection for an injury that most doctors advise specifically against.

It really sounds like there going to keep there cap space. Sign and trade big al and millsap. Tell us fans its about collecting future assets. Then suprise us all by signing paul and howard. Seriously it sounds like he wants to make a big move but is unsure about it because were inn Utah. High hopes for Dennis!

I could see him go steal tyler handbrough for something like 4 yrs 24 million. Mayo same contract 4 yrs 24 million just a little more then the mle. Both young players and to add a little dept. Then I could see him gambling on augustine 2 years 6 million can't be worse then tinsley/watson?

In other words, Kanter, Favors and Hayward are safe, but Burks for Bledsoe is a done deal and the Jazz will be drafting a SG to replace Alec.

Prolly draft a small forward, and put Hayseed at the two. Seems to me that is what the Jazz think he is as an NBA player. I bet they try to trade up to get one of small forwards from next years draft. Then they have their rebuild complete.

I'm not sure if Dennis Lindsey is really the best fit for us after listening to parts of this interview .... I like the fact that he is honest and doesn't really hide anything but......... I didn't like the comments that were just at the start of our rebuild process ....that's just strange to think when we have all this tallent .. or maybe its a clue that were dumping all our free agents and going to have a scrub roster

yeah, he obviously thinks Favors and Hayward suck. Not to mention what he thinks of our Enes...

Why is everyone so high on Bledsoe?

I'd rather see us sign Jack and draft Schroeder to come off the bench, develop, gain experience and taking over the starting spot in a few years.

I could be wrong, but I thought that if they had traded AK for almost anything and used those pieces to fill in for the mid-tier contracts (CJ, Korver, Brewer, and Milsap) that they might've survived the Memo Extension/injury mistake.

I thought the Jazz got too hung up on being 'loyal' to their guys in a league & system that punishes a team for being loyal to average players.

I get the sense that Lindsey feels no such loyalties.

Bledsoe is one of the most athletic PG in the league. The dude is a freak athlete. He has a lot of potential. When it comes to young and upcoming pg's he is at the top of the list.

he is not the jazz PG of the future.. he couldnt even will the clippers to o good record when paul was out. the kid is just athletic, this is all he really has going for him.. he isnt like rose or westbook..

I bet at least 6 of the 8 current RFAs will be back with the Jazz... Not that I like that, but I think they will resign far too many of the current players.

Part of the issue is that they all know the Jazz have a ton of open roster spots and a ton of cap room. I don't think Al or Sap will be back though. I think they get good offers from other teams.

That sounds about right. I think Sap will get more than a lot of people think here. He is a good player, great guy, and just in his prime. Michael Jordan will offer Big Al like all the money he has, screwing his team for another 10 years.

He's also not Lebron James. But he would be a great PG for the Jazz.

Personally, I liked the interview. I think his comments on Favors and 1 on 1 b-ball were interesting.

Bledsoe has to be the most overrated player on JF the last two years.
