So he doesn't like the term Core Four. Says it will be hard to keep them together.
It got me thinking that perhaps KOC's ability to assemble good talent has been a weakness when compared to the Spurs pattern, which was ironically based on the Jazz's pattern of getting a 1-3 guys to hold onto and shuffling all the pieces around them.
It could be that one of the troubles of the Boozer/AK era was that there was not a 'the guy'. They were too dependant on contributions from many players for success. And as the indivudual players and team had success it was costing more to keep the pieces in place. Eventually it got too expensive for the Jazz and the wheels fell off.
The spurs have kept Duncan as 'the guy' along with Parker & Ginobili but have shuffled through alot of role players. John & Karl were the building blocks and everything changed around them.
I wonder if Deron/Booze could have continued, or atleast ended differntly had the Jazz tried to lock them in as building blocks and reshuffled the deck around them. The first move would have been trading trading AK for a bunch of pieces. But Korver, Milsap, Harpring, could have all been casualties as well.
Moving Forward I wonder if Lindsey sees anyone on the Jazz as 'the guy' or if all the young players are in play for trades and changes.
