What's new

Dennis Schroeder-PG Germany about to blow up!

Read up on the guy and watch the video on draftexpress.com... see what Chad Ford had to say over the week and weekend at the Nike Hoop Summit and we might have a very intriguing prospect that we might/could pick up at 14 if McCollum is gone or perhaps at 21. I like what I see a whole lot!

6'2" w/ a 6'7.5" wingspan, watching the defensive portion of the video the kids has the quickest lateral movement I have seen in a PG, and with those long arms... he could be tough.

Take a look.

Can you post those vids?

Numberica whats the problem.... its like the kid in the classroom... Teacher, Billy didn't raise his hand to talk first. This player deserves his own thread, as does Trey Burke, CJ McCollum and any other point guard who we might draft. Chad Ford responded to a tweet from a Jazz fan who was similarly intrigued tonight by say that KOC and Dennis are there (at the Nike Hoops Summit) and they should also be intrigued with Schroeder.... and David Locke retweeted that from Chad Ford...

He will start to rise and it will be fun to watch... The more options the better.

His shooting is fine....might be fixed, but his inability to finish around the rim is a bit worrisome. His defense is superb though. He's a really raw prospect too in terms of body. Weighs only 157?! I wonder how much it will effect his speed once he gains to 180-190.

Then there's this:
"More concerning is the body language he shows on occasion, as he seemingly loses his temper somewhat easily, and can be a bit too demonstrative around his teammates, especially considering his age. He faced harsh criticism for this from his former U18 national team, Kay Blumel: “He's not a bad kid, but sometimes his behavior towards his teammates is not how it should be," the coach told FIBA Europe.com in July of 2011.

Dang. Oh well, guys.. it was fun while it lasted. Just glad we didn't waste our pick on a midget handed non-German looking German.

I caught that. I don't think I've ever seen you so quick to support a player with so many unknowns. Half of the reason why I'm pretty excited myself.

It's true... I never comment on a kid, at all, if I haven't seen them play at least one game (meaning I don't much stock in mixtapes).
Becauee I wAtch so much of these kids for years before they typically get mentioned on a national stage.. I don't claim to know much when I am a novice to the kids game. I admit yesterday was the first game I've seen Schroder play.. but sometimes you can just see it.

Reminds me of Rondo but doesn't finish as well, but he could definitely improve on that -- looks like he doesn't concentrate on the rim or square of the backboard on his release which causes a lot of misses. Doesn't have a very good stroke or touch on his jumper but that certainly can improve with practice. Has potential. His quickness off the dribble compared to NBA points is probably average but hard to tell. His lateral quickness on D though is definitely elite. Handle looks good despite the claim of small hands.

The fact that he can run the pick and roll so well, has a stellar first-step, and has great dimensions is more than reason enough to give him a look at 14. If he had great finishing ability and a perfect stroke, this dude would be Top 5.
