What's new

Derrick Favors being on the bench didn't lose us this game, our starting 1-3 did.

I dont know if I put my faith in Burks and Carrol taking shots at the end of the game, Millsap did struggle a few times against Sanders but I am still more confident in him with the ball in that situation than Favors, No way Kanter can guard Illyasova, not a chance. I see what you are saying I guess I just don't think Favors would have made a positive difference. But I could definitely be wrong. Only L Ron Hubbard really knows.

I agree about millsap going out and illyasova possibly going off.... i understand the decision by corbin to go with sap.... It is just my opinion that when a guy is having the best night of his entire life, you should always find a way to keep playing him no matter what.

I do think that maybe with sanders on sap (and continually stuffing sap) maybe they should have went to kanter against illyasova (kanter was playing better offensively than sap or favors, and coming off a carreer game and playing good in the clutch) but corbin will never go with one of the young guys as long as he has sap or jeffy to go to.

I hope that is not the case. Although it never ceases to amaze me the level of entitlement NBA players feel they deserve. The Jazz are paying Favors millions of dollars a year to play basketball. He is the obvious heir apparent as our franchise player. He has several years of fantastic games ahead of him where I am sure he will carve out a great career, and he leaves us because he was understandably benched for someone else that was bringing us back into the game? I actually somewhat understand what Corbin is trying to do in teaching the young players appreciation for playing time and shots. I hope he doesn't leave, but I am optimistic because the Jazz have developed him slowly to avoid a lack of appreciation and narcissistic tendencies that tend to destroy teams.

I wouldn't think he would leave because of one game... i think a game like last night could be the straw that broke the camels back though.
Favors has been getting shafted for a few years...... that is why i think he might want to leave..... everyone including national media are always saying favors needs more minutes, the jazz need to move one of thier bigs so favors can play more, and i bet he hears it from friends, family, his agent, and other nba players that he should be playing more..... hearing that stuff over and over for years might have an effect on him.

To his credit (and coach corbin and the jazz FO credit as well) he seems to be handling things quite well.

I think it was a perfect storm of having 3 bigs playing well, the bucks going small, Kanter and Favors leading a big comeback, and Favors leaving the game at the wrong time.

Yeah you might be right, I hope it's not the case. I hope some of these players have the ability to think for themselves and not deluded by their situation.

All those things are true, and you are right...... but even without the perfect storm corbin still goes with millsap because that is what he does everygame (chooses millsap and jeffy over kanter and favors)

In my honest opinion, i dont think it is that big a deal and i think favors will be just fine, its just stupid to risk making a player with his potential pissed off in order to play a couple of average vets who have hit thier ceiling and are probably leaving anyways
