Yeah when you are a complete scrub like those players a vertical doesn't mean much. When you are a player like Williams though, its a tool you use to your advantage. Ask Lebron, Griffin, Westbrook and countless other NBA stars who use it to their advantage.

what im trying to say is, derrick, he is athletic even if he has a few more kilos or pounds whatever. He is very strong too. And obviously self confident. But i dont see the talent as u say. I dnt see him handling the ball, making cluthc shots, take over games, dribbling past in the crowd. otherwise i dont argue that he is good or not, he MUST be good if he will be picked at 1-2

As a defender, Sap is not quick. But he has excellent reflexes and intuition. At the 4, those qualities make him seem quicker than he is. Defending a guy who isn't moving a whole lot plays into his strengths -- he can read the defense and react. As a 3, Sap gets exposed on the perimeter. He isn't quick enough to stop drivers and, worse, he can't help the defense the way he does as a 4.

Williams for sure. Sap doesn't the fluidity to be a SF full time.

I'm not so sure about that. Williams didn't play 3 in college either (to my knowledge) and Millsap is relentless. If he's given the objective to take transitioning to the 3 full-time, history says to not doubt him. Although I still will a little bit. :D

Here's a couple concerns about Williams (even though I WOULD take him #2 behind Irving). As a collegiate-level PF (and I am not impressed with the Pac-10), that everyone wants to transform into an all-star caliber NBA SF, it's important to note that he had more than 25% of his games with AT LEAST 4 TO's (never a game with 4 assists, not that I care about that really). As a non-primary ball handler, that's too many TO's to make me at all certain he can successfully move to SF in a league full of prolific SF's.

Also, in 38 games, he fouled out 5 of them. Against;
- Kansas
- Rice
- Stanford
- California
- AZ State
Was also 1 fould away from fouling out in these;
- New Mex State
- Oklahoma
- Oregon State
- Stanford
- Washington
- USC
- Oregon
- USC

Of course everyone should be projecting to get better and I feel Willams will improve these areas (his other number are very good). I do feel, there's very valid concern for a shift to NBA SF.

I project Williams to be a slightly undersized PF and a good one, perhaps very good. I'm just not sold on all the SF stuff.

Derrick Williams hasn't been good, but situations can be tough. I've always believed Kanter COULD be amazing, but there was just so much uncertainty about that draft.
