Rep'd.
Sepanol's vehement pessimism of Al Jefferson is so obviously related with him wanting Kanter to get 30 minutes next season, its laughable. Don't come into this forum rooting for just your countrymen. If you truly strive for the success of this team as a whole, you'd either meet this news warmly if your naive (like me; though for some reason hearing of AlJeff working out seems more realistic, since I didn't hear anything of the sort last offseason) or being pessimistic (maybe smarter) , like some of the soulless longtime Jazzfans we have here. But don't post here, acting as if working out has absolutely no benefit to the guy, and he will always be a scrub no matter what. Im sure if there were reports of Kanter working out you'd probably be giving all of us lectures on how he has the best work ethic since Karl Malone.
I am not gonna ask your permission to come to this forum for sure, if there is something wrong about me, the administrators may take care of it, and people who arent superficial like you, know that i m on this forum long before Kanter was mentioned to be related to Utah in the draft talks and i was never a homer of Memo back then.
I am trying not to talk about Kanter as much as possible but you and zerol has some paranoia about it, i dont like him because he is turkish, i like him because he is good, and probably will be much better than Jefferson after a couple of years. But because he is turkish, i may like him more than if he was an american or spanish or whatever, it is something different to be more favorable on your countrymen while being objective, and being totally a homer neglecting his mistakes. i am totally not like the second one.
I told you guys millions of times but i will tell once more, so i hope this time you will get it. I dont say Big Al is a bad player, he is just not good enough to be franchise player (if its not one of the worst 5 nba teams). But Kanter at least has potential for it. We will see how things will turn out to be, but it is obvious that Big Al isn't the guy for us, neither was Boozer. He has many good sides and skills, but he mess things up with his stupidity, he has low vision in offense, he doesnt have consistent shooting, which is very important in playoffs to have many threats. He scores a lot, and he has good post game, but it is not enough to be a damn franchise player. Dont you guys see his defense? or do you think defense is all about blocking?
Clearly our basketball views are opposite, it is not about being a homer or not. I just think that, if we wanna be contender instead of being a playoff team like last 5 years, we should start our young players (supposedly the future of this team) right away, Why the hell Kanter and Favors, even Burks should wait 1-2 more year to get 20-30 mins? If we will build this team on these guys, they should start, make mistakes, learn from them, get experience and be better in future.
Well if you say, we just drafted Kanter for fun , it is ok then lets not start him, lets play the best roster available right now, so we have more chance to make the playoffs, and we will be eliminated in the first round and continue being on the same level as last 5 years. I am looking from a different standpoint, i dont give a **** if we make playoffs this year, i just care if these guys will make a good chemistry and be a contender in future. And i dont see a Utah in 3 years with Harris and Big Al on the line up. So why dont we trade them while they have some value on the market? Is it better if we wait one more year and let them go without getting anything in return?
If we had 100 million salary cap , i would understand you, so you want a deep big man rotation, kanter, big al, millsap favors even memo, so in a few years, when the young guys will get a higher contract we can still keep Big Al, but right now it doesnt seem possible.
It is basically clear that we have to make a choice, either Big Al or Kanter, because you cant have them both for the next 3 years.
Only logical solution would be here, to see the first year, let Big Al stay just in case and see how kanter adapts the league, if he is really worth of being a 3rd big or a bust, so we can make a decision the following season.
But it is my opinion that, i dont think peoples basketbal iqs and fundamentals change in one summer so easily, so we wont see a Super Big Al next year, so we can let Kanter and Favors play and as much as mistakes they do, we can be patient and see them improve their game if they are really our future.
And i m repeating again, this is my opinion and you dont have to agree with me, but stop doing the same superficial comments about me being a Kanter homer all the time, provide strong back up to ur opinions and show some logical evidence that Big Al should get damn 35 mins per game(not weird synergy defense stats) while we have Favors , Kanter and Millsap so we can discuss about it. But it is really boring when i hear the same thing all the time.
