Now after we get swept, i wonder how many people think it was worth losing our lottery pick ?

I think it is good making the playoffs and it gives the team confidence, but considering limited experience that our young players got, i doubt if it is worth instead of having a better pick (3-4 seeds at least). I at least hope, this was a good experience to show us we need something different than Harris and Big Al to be a real contender.

Ill tell you why it was worth it. Koc now knows without a doubt changes are needed. I expect some big moves this offseason. It will happen.

Not the way Corbin had coached these playoff games. Absolutely and utterly disappointed.

- Didn't start Favors until 4th game
- Didn't let Favors guard Duncan until 4th game
- Didn't experiment with Caroll until 4th game
- Didn't seriously stick with the BIG lineup until the 4th game

Just unbelievably stupid coaching. They could swap coaches and Jazz would beat Spurs in this series 4-2. That's how bad I think Corbin has been.

What did you want them to tank on purpose?

I wish people would stop saying stupid things like this. The question is would you rather make the playoffs and get swept or get a draft pick and miss the playoffs.
No one wants the players or coaches to lose on purpose. Some of us wanted the jazz to play as hard as they can but maybe houston or pheonix just goes on a tear to finish season and we just miss the playoffs. That way we keep our pick, the jazz keep playing hard and learning, and pheonix or houston gets swept by san antonio.

Then next year we come in guns blazing with even more talent than this year and more experience and we make some noise in the playoffs.

Yes. Hayward and the team now know how much harder they have to work. If this doesn't drive them to improve themselves, I don't know what will.

Dont forget inserting hwoard in the starting lineup by game 1

Also I tweeted in game one to Locke that Favors should guard Duncan and he basically laughed at me.

I wasn't happy with Corbin's signing, and have been very patient with him. But his efforts in these playoffs have been atrocious. Jefferson & Corbin has to take a lot of the blame for this lack of effort.

Hindsight is 20/20. And so is the answer: Absolutely not.

Kudos on the timeliness of this thread, BTW.

If we had known that Corbin was going to coach as terribly as he just did, most people would have chosen to receive the lottery picks instead of a playoff berth.

He was worse than a deer in the headlamp. He got schooled by Pop big time and it's not even close.

I voted no out of disgust but really it was better. This was the transition between rookie and player for Favors.

I think KOC was way too eager to put veterans on the squad, and it's going to come back to bite him. Imagine getting a good rotation player like Kawhi Leonard in this draft. They would have been much further ahead next year with extra talent than experiencing the playoffs (a.k.a. confidence-shattering drubbing). Hayward may never recover...heck he'll probably spend all summer in his mom's basement playing video games.
