Also, the only positive thing I said about him was that he donated a kidney and didn't eat bat guano (that we know of)...so, no need to get all upset.

My two biggest disappointments. Jamie Watson and Fes. Both had potential to be pretty good and threw it all away in different ways. Fes was Lazy and Watson decided not to resign because he listened to his dumbass agent, who was in his ear telling him how great he was before he had even done anything. Guess u could throw Kanter in on that list.

I remember Darrel Griffith (towards the end of his tenure) Mike Brown, and a young Thurl Bailey. Also I remember when the Jazz traded Jeff Malone. The guy on the news announced, "the Jazz have finally traded Malone" the was a long pause and I remember thinking Karl Malone had been traded and getting upset. Then he cracked a smile and said, "they've traded Jeff Malone for the exchange of Jeff Hornacek. Good memories.

You lost me at osterag, he sucks and who ever backs him on this board should be banned. He got dunked on and caused turn overs like no tomorrow. He had only one good game against sac town. I dare someone to debate me on this fact, osterfag was the first stif to play the game.

Yep and cost this franchise millions to be part of many dunk posters from the opposition. He wore zero because he had 0 skill and should have rid the pine.

He wasn't perfect and he could've worked harder at his craft, but he's one of the better centers in jazz history and was an elite rim protector, and usually shined in the biggest moments. He got dunked on a ton, but so does Gobert. Such is the life of good rim protectors. I often felt better about the defense when he was in the game. He wasn't as bad as u make him out to be.

Of the scrubs, I think the one that amused me the most was Othyus Jeffers. He was a 6'4 wing with no outside shot whatsoever and an average athletic ability. Through intensity and commitment, though, he played very big.

I think he was worst than I made him out to be, I could name 5 centers who were better in Jazz history I would rather have Jarron, CB, Handlogten,Fuller,Massenburg, OP. If we had those guys during our Championship run who knows ... we could have won the title. When Ostertag was on the floor it was like we were playing 4 on 5. When I think of low points in Jazz history I think of Ostertag.

I would like to submit this into evidence, pretty sure I just saw him score about 40 points and block at least 6 shots in only 90 seconds. I'd like to see any of these other centers do that.

Fwiw ostertag might be my least favorite jazz player of all time not because he was the worst player... I just hated watching him play, hated his personality, hated his contract, and he grossed me out.

Sorry I should have specified it was CB for Curtis Borchardt (sp?) Carlos Boozer surpassed Ostertag's skill level when he was 2 years old playing with a nerf hoop.

To answer a great question and probably many others to come, this is only part 1...more are to come, also I was 10 years old in 1998 when he stopped playing for the jazz...not much I remember from those days, besides watching the finals and deciding to love the jazz from then on. You'll notice most of these players are from the early 2000s and on. But, I am trying I have a friend or two that might contribute some older players for the next post.

As I'm sitting here multitasking like the person the book "Nerding 101" is based on, I have decided to continue on our journey through Jazz Memory Lane.

By popular demand (drum roll)... Antoine "Big Dawg" Carr!! Blah blah I don't know who you are blah blah blah Google says: blah blah blah 3ish rebounds per game blah blah 7ish points per game blah blah blah blah sweet glasses blah blah blah not that big, also not a dog blah blah blah hero of game 5 of the finals blah blah 6th man blah blah blah probably most awesome guy ever blah blah blah blah


Konstantine Demetrios "Kosta the Dingle" Koufos, first of all, best name ever. Kosta the Dingle hahahaha. Anywho, were to start...this gentle Greek Giant could have been so great, but we just didn't give him a long enough chance. Averaging at about 6 minutes per game over 2 season, he did everything he could to make the most of that limited playing time. Unfortunately, we decided to package him up and ship him off to Minnesota in exchange for one Al Jefferson. Hmm, I wonder who won that deal! And just look at him spin that ball!!!


Mo Williams, this fearless floor general was originally drafted by the Jazz, but then left to mature before coming back post Deron Williams to lead our team to the glory land! Unfortunately for him, we came up short and didn't make the playoffs while he was with us. However, he scored an impressive 12 points a game and dished out 6 assists, not bad for a second round draft pick on his second try.


Who can forget this diamond in the rough? Of course I'm talking about Jacque Vaughn. At 4.5 ppg he kept opponents on their toes, all game long. Fun Fact: in his free time he likes to read and write poetry. Side note, he was also a fantastic coach for the Orlando Magic before being unfairly fired.


John Starks, "Starks's fiery intensity often led to emotional displays on the court. Reggie Miller, star shooting guard for the Indiana Pacers, was often a provocateur and target of his ire; during one playoff game, Starks was ejected for headbutting Miller." Fun Fact: John Starks was the first player in NBA history to make 200 3-pointers in one season. He came to us at the end of his career, which was unfortunately not his prime. He did however shoot a fantastic 80% from the free throw line. Fun fact, Starks once "busted a nut", had it removed...and played the next day...Chuck Norris style!
