What's new

Does anyone still like this team?

Really small sample size. All I know is that right now he's defending much better than Royce, navigating screens better than anyone on the team, isn't afraid to shoot, and plays with great energy. I'd definitely rather close games with him in the playoffs.
Not really my point. I'm fine with House closing, but don't expect that it will make any difference.

Donovan Mitchell currently has more missed shots in the clutch than any other player on our team has attempted shots.

Our offensive rating with House in the clutch is a 94.3 and defensive rating with House in the clutch is 130 (-35.7 net rating). Despite this, House has been fine, and has not been our problem in the clutch either.

I'm trying to remember if he took a shot in the clutch last night, or even touched the ball on offense during crunch time.

Yes I love this roster. It’s our system that’s inherently flawed IMO. We are reasonably deep and we have talent. We’ve proven that we can play with anybody. We definitely need more structure and cohesion to close out games. We don’t look like we’re all on the same page in many of our offensive sets and we rely too heavily on the money ball.

My hope is that Snyder moves on and that we run it back for an X’s and O’s Guru the likes of Monte Williams. I don’t think we are simpatico or fully playing to our strengths under Snyder. Don should and could be a cold blooded killer in the right scheme imo, but if he’s itching for the big stage, with the right return package I think we’ll be fine as well.

Lol no one but Rudy even attempts to defend. How many times in that video do you see perimeter defenders just standing in the paint watching offensive players catch the ball, squeeze it, rotate to where they want it, test the wind speed, and launch? I mean, Rudy can’t defend all 5 players out there.

Good thread from Andy about Donovan's late game struggles. I wish Donovan would trust his teammates more in the clutch, particularly Conley/Bogey/Rudy. I mean, that's one of the main reasons we brought Conley and Bogey in, to give Donovan some help on offense, but the last few minutes of the 4th quarter he still goes into hero mode and tries to do it all by himself.

It sounds like he is fully in delusional denial. It sounds like he's saying "look the rest of the game I graciously share the offense with other guys, but at the end, you know the entire 4th quarter, well of course it has to be me. I can do anything whenever I want. You know, except when I don't. But that doesn't mean anything, it just means I need to practice those tough shots even more. Why would I pass when I practice those shots all summer? Of course a contested step-back off-balance 2 is the best shot available at all times, after all, I'm the one shooting it, right?"

Good hell he's using his own product. He really needs to go.

Gotta bump this. This is going to be the reason we flame out in the playoffs. Every single team already knew all they had to do was pressure DM at the end of games and he would choke. Now he confirmed in his own words that no matter what defensive pressure he gets, he is taking the shot, regardless. And it is why we continue to lose leads and close games. DM is so far up his own *** he cannot fathom being a team player. The team is there merely to facilitate his obvious greatness, which he will no longer hide under needless passes, when he can "score on anybody at any point".

If this is his real attitude, and it goes unchecked, we are royally and completely ****ed.

Just show that he have a big EGO and a small IQ..... and this will never change as he is too old for that.
As he was coming up in the league he was very high IQ. He learned a lot on the fly and got better seemingly on a game by game basis. So he isn't a low IQ guy, but he's playing like one right now. I think it has everything to do with wanting to be the star, wanting to be the hero, and placing his own success and image above winning.

Yep. You see it in the tweeter above. He says it in his own words. He's taking the shot no matter what.
