It sucks when you run up against an "all star team."
 
I've always played on open gym nights with the semi-pro team here in Germany. Great vibe, good people, good level of play.
German players don't just grab a rebound and start a fast break on every position. There is some nice half court action too.
Great passing, good shooting, very skilled. On base is a different story. People arguing, calling fouls, ramming into full speed.

I've got a concussion, broken finger, and severe bone bruise in the past year. It might be time to hang it up, but I love to play.

I was pretty good once upon a time but as I got older and had more responsibilities and more bills to pay, the injuries were making life too hard and I had to quit.
I would break an ankle and have to miss too much work and lose out on money and get behind on bills.
 
I played pickup or league play from 12 - 28. But I found soccer at 24. It was a new challenge and I love challenges. So, I determined to figure it out. Now I play with college players or guys in college who played high school. Leagues are divided by skill set so the competition is great. I get more time and chances to play. I tried a jazz fan picup game about a decade ago at the hyper (U of U) but only 4 or 5 guys showed up. So, I have been convinced ya'lls are 350+ lb amputee stalkers who grew uo watching Mr. McFeely too closely and ya'll are looking for the next chap to stalk. Other than the 4 or 5 who showed up that is.

Thanks for the invite... but I will be playing soccer with peeps who actually show up.

I play both bball and soccer. Actually soccer in college. A good pickup soccer game is hard to find but leagues are almost always better than bball leagues.
