They owe a top 20 protected pick to the Wiz in 2030 that converts into a second. I think you could give Washington like 4-5 seconds and have that obligation removed. Green going to Hornets may net them something they can re-route or maybe something else is involved.

You could own GS whole draft in a powerful way for 7 years.
Sounds like a pretty massive "if"

I would like to add that the Warriors success is built on Steph Curry. They were nobody before he popped and they got lucky on some picks after tanking. I don’t think being big spenders is going to save them from being bad.

Steph Curry is 36. Basically anybody that hasn’t been LeBron James caps out at 38 before they completely fall apart. Steph Curry ain’t Lebron James.
There's a lot more money in the franchise now, but as someone who lived in SF for a couple years the "rich" fans from SV seem to get bored pretty quick

Not really. Just tell them we will take a swap in 2030 instead or they can get a pile of other stuff that can be realized sooner.

Golden State is a destination franchise with a lot of money. I would like their unprotected picks, but I think they have a much better shot at being a solid team for years rather than the Hawks picks we could get from the Spurs. I appreciate Golden State for being a team that raises the bidding offers, but I dont see them as being a serious team for Lauri.

Super swaps in 25/27/29/31 and unprotected picks in 26/28/30...
This is possibly more optimal than the inverse (4 picks 25/27/29/31 and 3 swaps in 26/28/30) because we’d have swap options on four different teams in ‘25 and ‘29, and FIVE different teams in ‘27. We also just don’t need a higher volume of picks in those odd years, we need to increase our odds of premium picks. We could use the extra picks in ‘26, ‘28, and ‘30.

I think the stance remains that the Jazz are only willing to trade him if they get blown away.

Only thing that's changed is the fact that teams are calling after missing out on Bridges.
Yeah, if those teams wanted Bridges the most (which tracks if thye went after him first) but werent wiling to pay then, what's making them pay for Lauri? I dont see Golden State having enough juice. It's the Spurs or Rockets as the only real contenders IMO.

The difference is that Pascal was on the market. You have to show up with a deal that PUTS Lauri on the market or the Jazz will be just as happy to keep him, sign him, and turn him into an even bigger asset.

Fair…Jazz have a lot of leverage here unless Lauri demands out, which is like be him turning down a ton of guaranteed money.

Just kind of funny to me people think there is this big blockbuster deal that hinges on the Warriors getting the Wizards to agree to something. What's preventing the Wizards from demanding such a big price on that were it becomes unattainable? It's going to be hard enough to get two teams to agree to such a big deal.

Woj just went on ESPN and said the Warriors have switched gears and are aggressively targeting Markannen.

But seriously... we know what's going to happen right? Ainge will ask for... *checks notes* EVERYTHING! And GSW will be like #WeGotAllLeverage... then Ainge is like... cool... Spurs give me a few ATL picks and some other stuff and you got it...

It shouldn’t be hard to get the Wizards to bite. They can play a little hard ball, but ultimately it is in their best interest to make that pick better for them. As it stand right now, they can only have that pick if it’s a late first. Can switch it to a swap/give them a protect first….many ways to skin a cat.

29/31 outright is a lot better than 29/31 swaps.

Owning the draft of a young team like Minny or Cleveland is nothing compared to owning the draft of an old team like Golden State.

That being said, Spurs still have better assets which DA could get in the next draft.

It will be interesting to see how big of a destination they will be going forward with Curry entering his twilight years. Right now I would put money on them fading as a destination franchise over the next few years.
