If you are referring to the Lauri stuff then wasn't it just yesterday when Tony Jones confirmed the Jazz have at least 2 offers on the table they are seriously considering?

I doubt the conversations died since then as there are no leaks from any of the potential suitors. I havent heard anyone say they are backing away.

Could be two offers that have already been declined. My real point is that a lot of this stuff isn't happening in real time.

Maybe and who knows, but it's also possible that this was discussed, they couldn't agree on a price and is now dead.
I don't think its dead but it is possible for sure. Until something happens that takes them out of the running I think GS can put it all on the table and it is enough. Kuminga is not my cup of tea but maybe Ainge loves him. IDK

I think what is clear is we are headed for a tank of some sort for the next year or two.

Could be for sure. I also think silence is a powerful negotiating tactic. Ainge went silent on the Knicks and Don went to the Cavs. If GS or SA or whoever is witholding stuff we really want just letting those packages sit for a day or two may cause one party to get impatient. Dunleavy likely not feeling super great about his standing right now... SA can be really patient. NOP and Kings have other business to move to if they don't get Lauri done... if they feel good about plans B, C etc. they may not be in a hurry.

There also could be some mystery team out there.

Dunno, my guess is that Ainge probably currently has Lauri locked in a basement somewhere, where he is using some kind of Zoolander mind hypnosis **** to ensure that Lauri beheads Draymond and Steph during a podcast next season. This will ensure that the future unprotected picks are more valuable.

I can only also assume that another part of the brainwashing that Ainge is doing will ensure that Lauri returns on a minimum contract in free agency next season as well.

We've clearly pivoted. We were in on Mikal Bridges, and likely others, but now we aren't even re-signing Dunn and exploring trades for Lauri.

I'm not sure how serious we were on any of the win now guys we've been linked to, but it seems really likely to me that we were the ones that drove up the price on NYK for Mikal.

It was a 3% chance to start the offseason... then when Bridges happened and we missed out it was a 10%... then **** got real and it was a 60%... currently it is a 45% based on Tony's article yesterday and other interviews... it feels like a pure coin toss so I will say 40-45% because a trade involves two parties agreeing. I think the extension is likely Lauri's preference and this exercise may be helpful for us to get his market value and also relay what we are going to do before he signs... so he doesn't feel cheated.

We should trade for Curry instead. Go on a miracle run with a bunch of young guns being swept up in playing with their childhood idol. Curry Lauri and the kids for the championship.

If Kings are involved I think its because they nab Ingram in a three team scenario.

Sacramento could trade their 28/30 unprotected firsts with 27/29/31 pick swaps or 29/31 unprotected firsts with 27/28/30 pick swaps.

Clearly lacking in the picks department vs Golden State.

No they are going to go all-in for Lauri to make a push at being a contender in Steph’s and Draymond’s last years.
The post I responded to was talking about alternatives for if they didn't go all in for Lauri doe
I was told that the only alternative was to waste Currys final years. I just pointed out that there was another alternative.

Think the smart move for them is what they are currently doing. Spend as much money as possible without spending future assets. Give Steph a last hurrah then trade him the following year out of nowhere and move on
But in the meantime... act like you are trying to get Lauri so you trigger a bidding war and make the Spurs give us all their picks! Smart!

#tonewatch... that's like #leveragewatch... but sounds more sinister.
