One thing Lowe/MacMahon brought up was Kuminga bring dealt to a 3rd team to get more assets for Utah in a Lauri deal. They said they both couldn't think of who that 3rd team would be

Any ideas who would really value Kuminga?

I haven’t found great, obvious fits.

Will Lauri be more valuable on the absolute max at the trade deadline or on draft day on lower than the absolute max we can give him on August 6th?
Some have said that he might be more valuable after they sign him because then he will be locked in for another 4 to 5 years and that gives them a much better option with having him locked in.

I think this might be the case, simply because until he's got a longer contract, he's a flight risk.

That depends on his deal and how well he plays this upcoming season. His value can change to either direction.

Flagg just smoked US Olympic team on their scrimmages.
Scrimmage? We're talking about a scrimmage?

From what I've seen, nobody gave a crap about defense. It's like the All Star game for the olympic team.

Flagg will be mediocre at Duke and a his absolute ceiling is a good role player in the NBA. And that's ok, but tanking for this guy is the height of madness. He's the latest product of the relentless social media hype machine, endless highlight videos and playing against kids much smaller than him.

Get back to me when he's doing this while playing against adult professionals who are actually trying to stop him.

I imagine the Warriors (and the Jazz honestly) would be more willing to send him to an Eastern team. Maybe the 76ers? Their roster's still a bit up in the air, but I think they could use a 3 or 4 like Kuminga that would both help now but also provide upside for the future alongside Maxey.

A trade could look something like:

Warriors get Lauri and Kessler (I think they're depth chart will be hurting otherwise)

76ers get Kuminga

Jazz get Looney (GS), Podziemski (GS), and Gordon (PHI), with 2025 and 2028 unprotected picks from GS, and a PHI 2029 unprotected pick along with the pick swap they have that year with the Clippers.

A third team for Kuminga could be the Bulls but you would get Lavine back to the Jazz. The picks would have to be sweetened from the Bulls significantly..

The Golden State picks and swaps +3 great picks from the Bulls + Plus a reclamation project that can be flipped in a couple of years might be compelling.

John Collins becomes the starting 4. Clarkson, Sexton still could be traded to Suns, Lakers, Bucks. Kessler could still be traded if you want to make sure a complete melt down this season.

I imagine the Warriors wouldn't care as long as they got the best package offered.

Kuminga makes zero sense on the Sixers and they couldn't afford to pay him next year

He doesn't really fit any contender and the other teams want to be bad so they aren't excited to add someone you might have to max out the following year.

Yeah I thought 76ers might be in that liminal space but if they can't pay him it wouldn't matter anyway.

This is why the dream team would destroy this years team. I’ve read story after story and seen video after video about how intense and insane their scrimmages were as in all out battles.

And yet, he’s the one that did it.

I really see zero chance Flagg isn't either a 5+ time all-star or at least a couple of ASGs with 5+ all-defensive teams. He's just too big, too athletic, and talented to fail.
