What's new

Donald is about to go through some things...

The correct take here is that they both have billionaire backing and are full of elites and that needs to be recognized. It's also obvious, that one is less insane and in a two-party system we have to choose one.

At least we have hope to push the less insane side in the right direction over time (slowly, like at a snails pace).
That change has to start with individuals really wherever we can. We have to be willing to remind ourselves that there are no absolutes, especially in politics, keep trying to help each other find the gaps and bridge them, and remind ourselves and each other that the "other" has a family and problems and need help sometimes too. And that they have a point of view worthy of understanding and even respect, even if we don't agree with them.

“The fact is that a private photographer was permitted on the premises and for whatever reason an unnamed individual, clearly suffering from a mental health episode, decided to physically block members of President Trump's team during a very solemn ceremony," Cheung said in the statement.

The Trump campaign declined to make that footage immediately available.

In a statement to NPR, Arlington National Cemetery said it "can confirm there was an incident, and a report was filed."

"Federal law prohibits political campaign or election-related activities within Army National Military Cemeteries, to include photographers, content creators or any other persons attending for purposes, or in direct support of a partisan political candidate's campaign," according to the statement. "Arlington National Cemetery reinforced and widely shared this law and its prohibitions with all participants."

(a rule that probably elicited a “yeah, right! lol!” from the “ever special one”)

You sir, are a ****ing moron.

You sir, are a ****ing moron.
When you realize you’re the moron, you will look back upon your own stupidity with shame. In fact you are in the lowest 5% of intelligence on the planet. You will come to realize this at some point and your hubris will be very painful to your ego. Let’s just say you’re the poster boy for “grinning like a **** eating dog!”

I am not american so not voting for her or anybody else. Just observing circus of your countries politics since Trump entered in 2016. And RFK junior is another clown who is antivaxx ( he thinks COVID was created by jews to eliminate white and black population??? Like seriously you support this idiot???) , Q-Anon conspiracist nutcase. Plus he is a liar - he said clearly that he would never endorse or work with Trump as their views are so different on numerous issues and now he did 360 degree spin and starting kissing orange clown's ***. Zero respect for idiots like that.

This is not atypical behavior for homie.

The correct take here is that they both have billionaire backing and are full of elites and that needs to be recognized. It's also obvious, that one is less insane and in a two-party system we have to choose one.

But this isn't a feature of a two-party system, this is a feature of electing the head of state directly. And yes, I know, electoral college and all that, but the president of the US is elected more directly than say the president of Germany or Israel, who is simply voted on by their respective parliaments without voter input. For practical purposes, the USA does elect the president directly.

Most countries that have a president elect them in an election that requires 50%+1 of the vote. That almost inevitably means there has to be a second round of voting featuring two top-place finishers because the first round is not going to yield a majority for anyone. I hold Croatian citizenship, and though I don't vote in elections, I follow them fairly closely. They elect a president every 5 years. Last time around, the top two candidates combined for just under 57% of the vote in the first round.

That meant that 43% of the people had to either stay home in the second round, or vote for someone who was not their first choice. In 2010, it was actually 52%. Top two candidates garnered 33% percent and 15% of the vote, that's how splintered the field was.

You could have as many parties as you'd like, unless you're willing to accept that someone getting a third of all the votes cast will become president, you will end up with a runoff. If the US had the same kind of system as Croatia, it would still come down to Kamala and Trump. I don't think a system exists where you get to vote for the absolute perfect candidate for president and also have the winning candidate have the actual support of majority of people.

"The US Army issued a stark rebuke of former President Donald Trump’s presidential campaign over the incident on Monday at Arlington National Cemetery, saying in a statement on Thursday that participants in the ceremony “were made aware of federal laws” regarding political activity at the cemetery, and “abruptly pushed aside” an employee of the cemetery.

“Participants in the August 26th ceremony and the subsequent Section 60 visit were made aware of federal laws, Army regulations and DoD policies, which clearly prohibit political activities on cemetery grounds. An ANC employee who attempted to ensure adherence to these rules was abruptly pushed aside,” the Army spokesperson said in the statement on Thursday. Section 60 is an area in the cemetery largely reserved for the graves of those who served in Iraq and Afghanistan.

“This incident was unfortunate, and it is also unfortunate that the ANC employee and her professionalism has been unfairly attacked. ANC is a national shrine to the honored dead of the Armed Forces, and its dedicated staff will continue to ensure public ceremonies are conducted with the dignity and respect the nation’s fallen deserve,” the statement said."

No, it’s not. Reminded me of the time he pushed aside the Prime Minister of Montenegro. In this instance nothing was about to stop Donald Trump from making a campaign video at Arlington. Very glad to see the strong rebuke from the Army, and I hope that response gets a lot more play on the airwaves. I also appreciate this veteran’s opinion:

"Donald Trump has no right to use our most hallowed ground for his political aims," Fred Wellman, a 22-year Army combat veteran, said Wednesday. "For a lot of us, and I'm not the only one, people are aptly furious."

Wellman said Trump's desire to honor the fallen still had to conform with the law. "There's an actual federal law on the books saying it cannot be used political purposes," he told USA TODAY. "The families put out a statement saying, 'Oh no, we authorized it.' They don't get that right. The families don't get the right to make decisions for the other people buried there."

Great to see.

I do have to admire the masters of spin for this narrative.

Joe Biden made a decision that killed 12 American soldiers, then lied on national TV to say no one died on his watch. Then Kamala, wanting to build some creditability, proudly proclaimed herself to be the last person in the room when that American-soldier-killing decision was made. Since then, the gold star families have heard nothing from either Biden or Kamala, other than Biden's public statements that their kids who died serving our country didn't exist. Trump said they existed and they mattered, and he would be honored to raise awareness of their sacrifice by laying a wreath on their graves. The families all accepted his offer.

Did it raise awareness for human beings who lost their lives? Nope. It is about a regulation and staff and photography equipment. That is an impressive spin on what has been some awful behavior from Biden/Harris.

Not as much as you might think. His casual pissing on the military is quite well known at this point, though it makes for easy ad fodder.
It might sting more than in years past though. Now that there is a more viable option out there who is actually carrying some momentum, more people will take note of his erratic and unhinged behavior.

Can we get a different adjective then unhinged? Trumpian, maybe? Trumpish?

And with his recent slight of the Medal of Honor he's pissing off a lot of people who unlike Trump respect military service.

Eh, Trumpian might meme him, which plays into his hands. Synonyms for unhinged include deranged, demented, unbalanced, out of one's mind, crazed, mad, insane, inane, lunatic, manic, maniac, berserk, disturbed, distracted, confused, certifiable, sectionable, crazy, mental, bonkers, bats, loopy, bananas, touched, out to lunch, off one's head, off one's rocker, potty, batty, steak 'n eggs (going by GD experiences), and bat****. Take your pick.
