This is what I feel Trump is doing with the Republican nomination. Just say whatever it takes to get the nomination, and then use that platform to run the actual campaign he wants to.
Yep. It's "Demagogue 101".

everything that needs to be done to turn this country back to how it was before 1914.
Let me guess. You're a white male, at least theoretically Christian, straight, somewhere between 25 and 45, no disabilities.
Trump still managed to hit it out of the park, he fended off all that stuff about the Pope and his U-turn on the Iraq war, etc.. and still came off as smart and brilliant. His idea about building that 'wall' and making the Mexicans pay for it is simply brilliant from a business savvy-ness standpoint.
He is candid and refreshingly honest about himself and his u-turns. He is surprisingly honest which is something that I didn't get from Cruz, Rubio or even Bush.
I'd be surprised he doesn't win, he ate the other candidates up like it's breakfast.
I assume Trump would put an embargo on trade and then Mexico would say, "Never mind. We'd be happy to pay for the wall." As much as I don't like Trump, I think he wins this battle easily. What exactly is his plan when Mexico says "**** you and your stupid ****ing toupee" and refuses to pay for the wall?

Man, this could get fugly. America, please don't elect this clown. No, that's when China steps in and is more than happy to take Mexico's goods and services. Or Russia.
They'd LOVE to have Americas southern neighbor in their camp instead.
I think Trump said Mexico had a huge trade deficit against the US. And the cost for the wall itself is only a small portion of that. What exactly is his plan when Mexico says "**** you and your stupid ****ing toupee" and refuses to pay for the wall?
If Rubio can pick up the bulk of Bush's supporters, as many pundits seem to think possible, Trump will suddenly have a real rival. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out. I myself am now in the "anyone but trump or cruz" camp for the Republicans.Trump wins in south Carolina Jeb Bush drops out... yep expected that.
Yeah, we only do billions of dollars of trade with Mexico. That would be a genius strategy there. Plus I think NAFTA is actually still a thing.I assume Trump would put an embargo on trade and then Mexico would say, "Never mind. We'd be happy to pay for the wall." The Republican National Committee announced it will be holding a presidential debate in Salt Lake City in March.
The debate, which will be held on March 21 in Salt Lake City, was decided upon by the RNC's Debate Committee after the committee met on Saturday and decided another debate would be beneficial to the selection process. The March debate will be the first presidential debate the state of Utah has hosted.
The sponsor for the debate has not been decided at this time, nor has information about whether the general public will be allowed to attend the debate. However, Evans said the state party will announce soon how its allocation of tickets to the debate will be distributed.
Add to that the fact that he doesn't smoke or drink, and that he only sleeps 3-4 hours a day, I mean that's just the kind of stuff that would impress and potentially sway any undecided voter.

LOL. .. to be clear I don't decide my vote on those things. What I meant was these are the little things people think about when they are deciding between candidates. It doesn't only come down to who's most experienced or capable. Sorry I thought that was clear from my post.I realize you don't count because you can't vote here, but the fact that there are people that actually think like this is terrifying. No wonder we keep on electing idiots.

And yet he's in the lead.. which I think speaks more about the society as a whole than anything else... lolSomehow you find the things about him endearing that I find abhorrent.
So yeah, he's confident...in his stupidity.
He says what he thinks...which is inaccurate, offensive and misinformed.
He's got that tough guy thing going, except that he isn't a tough guy, not in anyway that I'm buying into. He's a self-important little twerp. I look at him and I see pathetic. I see someone who is delusional about who they are and how the rest of the world sees them.
I find his personality to be so incredibly irritating that I can't hardly watch the guy without feeling uneasy, damn near nauseous.
Good on him that he only sleeps four hours a night. I don't have any idea why that would be impressive. I have a feeling it contributes to the delusional way he sees the world.
