What's new

Donald Trump

It has been a common theme throughout his presidency that Obama and his administration apologize to other nations for the role we've played in the world. I only read a portion of this article, but it appears to give some pretty good examples:
https://www.heritage.org/research/r...how-the-president-has-humiliated-a-superpower

There are many, many more examples. Upon her husbands election Michelle Obama said, "For the first time in my adult life I am proud of my country." It has become abundantly obvious that the Obama's really have been as embarrassed of this country as those words indicate.

I am not saying that our country has never made a mistake, or that we shouldn't apologize when we do, but on balance I believe America is a great country, and that we have every right to be proud of the role our nation plays in the world.

I'll try to be respectful.

1) that article has 10 instances of apologies-- but it does a rather...absent job of asserting what the ramifications of these apologies are. No surprise, given the source of said article. You will be laughed at across the entire world if you truly think that Iran got access to nuclear energy, and that North Korea continues to "strengthen" due to the apologies of Barack Obama. I cannot tell you how far removed from logic, and facts that it.

which leaves us to...

2) You just don't like the idea of apologizing for being American.

Unfortunately for you, your nation has a ****-ton to apologize for.

Let's tune into an ex-Marine talking about it.

I think the opposite needs to happen tbh. People need to stop rushing to "I'm offended" and take time to actually understand what is being said in full context.

Our society is encouraging this false indignation over everything. Overly sensitive.

said like a true white cis-male, tbh. Agree to disagree.

Growingly convinced that Bernie stands no chance. In fact, the Democratic nomination is so rigged with Super Delegates that it would be nearly impossible for him to win the nomination, let alone win a general election. Even if Hillary's candidacy self-destructs before the convention I believe that another candidate will be put forth by the Dems to prevent Bernie from winning the nomination. If he did somehow make it to the general election, though, his chances would disappear once the majority of Americans understand how fundamentally he wants to change this country. Wall Street would literally invest billions to make sure this happened.

isn't this exactly what should make everyone want to vote for the guy? If this belief being legitimate isn't proof of America being a total oligarchy, i'm not sure what is.

aaaaaaaannnddd here comes the obviously predictable slippery slope!!!

Thousands.

Right, all 3 women on a Utah-based sports forum. Let's extrapolate this to the entire population, as an exercise of utter stupidity.

Right. And now we have Universities like Texas who are being instructed to make classes less inflammatory due to concealed carry now being allowed on campus. Care to complain about this too?

You want to talk about a slippery slope and then you include the last paragraph?

You're too much man.

So you're changing your argument from "Bernie will win" to "Bernie would win if everyone felt like Dal," right?

War is ugly. Shocker.

Growingly worried that Trump will steam-roll Hillary.

Bernie would massacre him tho.

Bernie has no shot versus Hilary so it won't matter. Unless you actually think the majority of Americans will actually vote for a guy who will **** with their paychecks by raising taxes.

War is ugly. Shocker.

Lol. That's your response?

Your nation's actions are reprehensible. Continue to praise some carrot who avoids criticizing America strictly because his voting base tends to have the cumulative IQ of a tin of cashews.

Meanwhile, in reality, reasonable leaders of America will have to continue to apologize for their actions in order to ensure international safety, stability, and a further strengthening of relations with her allies.

Spoken like a true Muslim male, tbh.

exactly, which gives me insight as to how slanted **** is in y'alls favour, how oblivious so many of y'all are to it, and why it's of zero surprise that y'all don't get "offended" about **** that really isn't about you.

I will, it's stupid. We should be teaching kids to dealing with strong opposing opinions. Not coddled and pampered. Not "safe spaces". That includes xxxxxxx. (Pick your category).

"No shot"?

Name one accurate political prediction that has been made so far this election season.

Well since it's not for the actual Presidential election, I guess he has a shot versus Clinton. But if he wins the Dem nod and the actual one-on-one begins, he'll have no shot because Americans, even many of those who oppose Trump, won't stand for Sanders tax policies.

It's not that we're "oblivious" to it. It's that society loves to create victims. You are proof of that. You started an Internet fight over an out of context quote and read way to much into it.
Glad to see you embrace your victim hood over everything.

And for the record I think you are smarter than I am and at least as capable. I value you quite highly. You just have some terrible views on social issues.

But I'm a white male and so my opinion is the only one that could possibly be wrong. So I digress.

it's hard to take your critiques seriously when 2% of University students (at my school) attempt suicide, and 70% report depression. Your criticism of safe spaces shows that you aren't really all too familiar with the debacle of mental wellness among college students continent-wide. I'd want your daughters to have a safe environment that isn't triggering her into suicide-- and so would you I'm sure.

No professor at my school tells us to not hold strong opinions. They encourage us to debate. If not calling Asian people squints is considered "coddling", then I guess I'll continue to coddle.

And that's the funny thing about all of this frankly ******** PC criticism. Only idiots would perceive something as complex as political correctness as binary.

if someone says it in a forum, I don't really care.

I'll continue to hold politicians to a higher standards. Yes, even those I'm a fan of. I enjoy Killer Mike the rapper, and he said "midget" in a segment on TV. He apologized, as he should have.
