And it's not like his comment was classless and offensive anyway. We have such a cultural mindset now that is something is said online that isn't positive then it's automatically wrong, offensive, and triggers the SJWs.
My brother just came over to my house so we could put in for some hunts here in Utah (dare I even say that?) and I asked him about the dunk contest and if he watched it. He said it was boring and turned it off before he went to bed. Mind you, he's been a Jazz fan his whole life and a season ticket holder. I understand that Mitchell is the Jazz's future and I've personally have never been this excited about a Jazz rookie/player or seen our fan base so excited about a player in my life but saying the dunk contest wasn't that great or boring, to me, isn't ******** on Mitchell or being a Debbie Downer. It just means we've seen better ones. Like someone said on here and I think nailed it, the great dunk contests are the exception to the rule. They don't happen every year and when they do, we tend to remember them years/decades later.
Another reason why I think the dunk contests are less exciting is because there are literally professional dunkers and tons of videos online that show guys doing dunks that very, very few NBA players could do unless they devoted their full time and attention to jumping and dunking. It's tainted it the dunk contest, but they are still fun to watch.
My favorite part about the dunk contest last night was Mitchell putting down his first dunk with ease and he did it earlier than I thought he would. I wasn't ready at the time and when it went in I got to my feet and cheered. It was the perfect dunk that was both safe and exciting to do in the first round. My second favorite part to the contest was Mitchell rocking the retro uniform. Damn those are sexy. Lastly, my least favorite part was when Mitchell took his jersey off to reveal Carter's. To me, it should be taboo to wear Carter's jersey in the dunk contest and to replicate one of the dunks from arguably the best dunk contest ever. You're never going to win in those circumstances. I also should note I enjoyed when Mitchell jumped over the three children. There's a pic online of that dunk that's down right special and bad ***.
