Donovan Mitchell All Star Weekend Thread

Okay, yeah that was the dunk of the night. The double bounce of the backboard was also really good. But none of them put together as good a series of dunks as Donovan did.
This is exacting what I said last night. Some of the other guys had a good dunk or two, but all of Mitchell's were good.

I think the award should go to the player with the best dunk of the night. Not sure of the format on how to get there though.

There are a lot of guys on this site who have **** on Rubio -- you ought to know that.
Point is LOAP cant be crying about someone being slightly critical of a dunk contest as "how about you support Jazzman" when he was ******** on Rubio last month.

Rooting for a guy in a contest as a representative of our team isn't even close to the same as being critical of one of our players who sucked the first three months of the season.
lmao

Everyone was rooting for Donovan dude. No one here rooted against him.

LOAP was saying "if you cant say anything positive, dont say anything at all against a Jazz player", so he was being a hypocrite.

Ya, also being a famous person tweeting about something is different than being a jazzfanzer posting in a jazzfanz thread. (though lop is kinda famous to us lol)

The settings are completely different. Just because LoaP didn't say it doesn't mean he didn't possibly imply it..

All I'm saying is don't be the positivity police if you spent the first half of the year trashing Rubio and calling for him to be benched for Raul Neto.

I also thinks its different to be negative about rubio while he playing negatively than to be a hater (negative) on something that donovan mitchell just won (a positive).

No, the award should go to the dunker that entertained us the most, and all the way through. I'm pretty sure Mitchell had only one missed dunk, seemed the others were missing multiple dunks every round almost, that kills anticipation for me. Mitchell even said it himself he changed his dunk after the miss to keep everyone's excitement level up to get more points.

Except that the game of basketball is much more nuanced than a dunk contest and Rubio's play was obviously a process that some people chose to ignore.

Specially with ******** about how he doesn't meet your technical specifications that you decided the dunk contest should be all about.

I never trashed Rubio, and I avoid trashing Jazz players in general. But there is a difference between someone bitching about a player hurting the team, and some uppity complaints about being unimpressed with the difficulty of DM's dunk mechanics, when everyone is celebrating an awesome night.

I just dont have a problem with saying a player sucks when he sucks. I dont remember anyone saying he was playing great while he was playing like dog crap. That would be weird to me.

Plus he came out for the first dunk of the night and nailed it. I mean I get that there aren't really bonus points for not missing, but maybe there are bonus points for not missing.

You arent the person complaining about people being critical of the dunk contest.

Talking negatively about a player who is playing like crap and hurting the team while he is playing like crap and hurting the team makes sense to me.
Talking crap about a dunk contest that donovan mitchell just won makes less sense to me. If you are fan of the jazz anyway. I can understand it more if you are not specifically a jazz/Spida fan.
