Now is the perfect time to trade him then. The second he requests a trade his value will drop because teams will know that we have no choice but to trade him...best to trade him while we still have more leverage in the trade negotiations IMO.
And Steven Adams... though I don't see it that way at all... just need to get it right. It feels like we’re the team trading Harden and getting Kevin Martin and Jeremy Lamb.
Or Tyler Herro and Duncan...And Steven Adams... though I don't see it that way at all... just need to get it right.
I found it funny the reporting on the Nets this morning... they thought a bidding war would break out... and it hasn't. I don't think the magical Knicks package is really out there at this point. I think you go get the best offers you can during and after the KD thing and if its the Heat with Herro, picks and pick swaps, and stuff... I will take that. The unprotected Knicks picks are likely better, but I just don't see them getting that wild now that they have Brunson. Now is the perfect time to trade him then. Hard to gauge offers when you've reportedly shut down trade converstations. Unless they're going to send them directly into DA's brain using brain waves.I found it funny the reporting on the Nets this morning... they thought a bidding war would break out... and it hasn't. Trade him, tank, and maybe we'll get another Kanter or Exum. Now is the perfect time to trade him then. I don't love the Heat package, but I would hate to pass on it and then end up having to settle for a worse offer down the road.
Herro and Jovic best case scenario are our new JC/Bogey. Get Sexton too and we'd have great value Donovan, Clarkson, and Bogey. You can do A LOT worse than Herro/Jovic and picks.
I just disagree... I would want more. We all look at the Heat picks as clearly late firsts... which is why you could get them plus the swaps unprotected because they think its all late picks. Since Lebron left the Heat have missed the playoffs 3 times in 8 years... Jimmy is 33 with a ton of miles and a huge contract... Kyle is 37... If they have Bam and Don they are likely middle of the pack Eastern Conference playoff team when healthy... but injuries happen... if they don't have cap space and picks to retool then you may very well end up with a couple lotto picks in that bunch. The Heat package blows….I don’t like the Knicks package either, but it’s way better than the Heat package. If what the Heat have to offer is the best we can get, that’s when you wave the middle finger and wait for something better.
We may end up with a similar package and that's fine.. its killing a year waiting and not getting as much value from your own pick and not as much value from selling off the rest of the win now pieces. Also sitting in limbo with a new coach having this cloud hang over him... sounds like fun.I don't love the Heat package, but I would hate to pass on it and then end up having to settle for a worse offer down the road.
The Heat have picked top 10 twice in 20 seasons and the Knicks have been a lottery team in 15/20 seasons and the Heat have been a lottery team in 5/20 seasons.I just disagree... I would want more. Whenever you have unprotected picks the team giving them has no incentive to lose... so they will generally be at worst late lotto mid lotto types. Not sure the pick quality of the Heat picks is >>>>>> Knicks picks... even though NY is a dumpster fire mostly. I also don't think they are sending out unprotected picks at this point.
Yeah we can get the GOATs, Herro/Duncan/JovicAlso, what if things aren't working... we trading Donovan at the trade deadline... like two weeks before the AS game?
Also, what if things aren't working... we trading Donovan at the trade deadline... like two weeks before the AS game?
Why don't we just waive him? Be better then financially tying yourself into 2 of the worst defenders in the league for the significant future at $43M+You also risk injury… best to do it now.
Memphis doesn't get our pick under any circumstance. If we tank and have the 11th best record then Memphis gets the pick. The Jazz have to have the 10th or worst record to make sense. We can't be that bad with Mitchell on the team. I think we are going to keep Mitchell until next year and Danny is going to do several different minor trades to make the team completive while trying to build up draft capital. I don't think can be done easily, but that is the road this team will take.
