Draft: The Player the Jazz Need Most is...Harrison Barnes

I see a lot of talk about PG in these threads. The player that I would want most for the Jazz is Harrison Barnes.

Man what a good fit he would be. Nice stroke. Nice size.

Not a fan of Barnes. For all the athleticism he has, I rarely saw him use it to his advantage this year. And I watched his team the most cause I was on the Marshall bandwagon.

If KOC makes a move in the draft (I have my favorites but) I will trust it is for the player he thinks can help the Jazz the most. Ever since I was so down on Hayward and he has exceeded expectations... my trust in KOC has gone skyrocketing. The other thing is.... I loved Favors coming out and wanted him or Cousins big time.... the fact that he saw that and traded a top 10 player to get him... makes me believe he knows what he is doing. I forgive him the picks in the 20's from the past as its a crap shoot... but when it lotto time... he is a dead ringer!

I think Barnes is one of those players that will be a better pro then college player

I think his all around game is a much better fit for the pro game and I think he would thrive in Utah. But I also think we need a really good PG on a rookie contract because we are gonna be giving out extensions like crazy in the next few years in positions 2-5 so we won't be able to go out and sign a high dollar PG in Free agency so I think we need a Kendall Marshall or Damian lillard. They would also not cost as much to trade up for depending on how far they slide

I dunno, I think we need a primary ball-handler, which Barnes is not. I would be ok with a Lillard or Rivers selection and if we can't get them then Doron Lamb, also not a primary ball handler, but he would be a nice fit in the Jazz line-up.

Agreed but I wouldn't draft Doron nearly as high as the former two though. And if Lillard or Rivers don't quite pan out to the extent for which we would hope, one of them could be packaged nicely with Burks, Kanter, Hayward and/or a pick for a big upgrade. I'm not sure who as the stumbling block always seems to be Utah/the market size itself but assets are assets and I see them as the most attractive in their range.

Do you really think he'll slide to 47?

We don't have a first round pick folks... Let alone a lotto pick, where Barnes is going to go. Why is this so hard for some to understand?

That's right people. Do not use your imagination or brains to try to brain storm up ideas/ways for the Jazz to get better. Thought and imagination never brought us anything useful. I mean who needs things like flight, the written word and antibiotics.

Shut down your minds and just trudge thru life. Thank you that is all.

Latest rumors have Charlotte interested in Barnes as early as #2. Cavs also allegedly have interest at #4. His floor is probably the Kings at #5.

I think the Jazz do have the assets to make a deal with the Kings to get up at #5 (Millsap, future 1st rounders and taking on a bad contract) but I'm afraid if they made that deal it would be to leap Portland to get Lillard instead.

I like Lillard and all, but I think Barnes is a much better prospect and his shooting and size at SF is much needed on the team. It would kill me if they got in position to get him and then passed to force the local pg pick instead.
