I never knew being in the middle was good. Indiana was 9 games away from being a five hundred team. I dont think anyone on this board would concider them or there offense last year "good". The only reason that the Pacers were even close to the middle is beause last year there was an absurd difference in the "good" teams and the "bad" teams. Last year 7 teams won less then 35% of their games. That is why the god awfull pacers may not have seemed so god awfull if you werent watching the games, or the nba last season.

I would hardly say that Indiana couldn't score last season. They were above average in scoring. That's all I was saying. I never said Indiana was good.
 
Not really. They were as a team below the NBA averdge in Points per game, FG % and 3pt%. They were slightly above the averedge in FT% and Assists pg. What I was trying to prove in the last post was that they would have looked even worse if other teams like New Jeresy and the T-Wolves were not historicaly bad.
 
No they were below the averdge.
Pacers: 100.8 ppg, .443 fg%, .348 3ptfg%
NBA: 103.8 ppg, .453 fg%, .363 3ptfg%

Again they were below averdge. In a year of terrible teams and amazing teams. When I say terrible, I mean both the T-Wolves and New Jeresy had two of the worst records in the history of the NBA.
 
But I remain with my original point that Watson should have an easier time getting decent stats on a much stronger Jazz team.
 
Question:

Could his turnover #'s be the result of playing with teammates who couldn't handle the ball well? Like dropped passes or misread plays?

Being on the Pacers leads me to believe a lot of his turnovers are due to playing with **** teammates. Besides Danny Granger.

It will most likely be a swing player. Thompson, Jeffers or Nichols. Thompson is the most likely person to stay with the team. Especially how we got lucky with Matthews last year and he is very similar in talent and style of play.

14th would be Thompson if signed
 
It's worth noting Watson hasn't played with a big that can score in years (if... ever?). Earl Watson has never been a huge priority in an opposing teams defensive schemes, but with how much emphasis the Jazz put on getting easy inside buckets, Watson should get better shots. And better passing numbers.
 
And only in Jazz fandom does the term "veteran" instill fear into people by the term itself. Everyone keeps mentioning Hart and Knight, but forget that Hart was a complete nobody except for a spurt in '07. Hart lived up to what he was for his history; an overly cautious bum with no first step, a weird and streaky shot, and good D. Knight was 33, 5' 10" and his productivity was clearly on a steep decline, but he still protected the ball, found the open man, and hawked the ball on D, even if he couldn't get to the rim or shoot nearly AT ALL. Knight ended up not being very good, but I still think comparing him to Hart (one of the worst PGs this team has ever had) is unfair.

Watson does not compare to either of those guys. I know I'm going to hear bitching about him regardless of whether he deserves it or not just because he's not the guy he's backing up. But I think Watson will be one of the best backup PGs this team has had (obviously behind Stockton and Eisley pt 1, but I'm not sure what Watson does that Maynor doesn't, Maynor has a worse shot, an underwhelming first step, is a poor defender, and is one of the weakest PGs I've seen in the league but has a great court sense and good passing skills).
