Endearing Favors Video

This popped up on my Twitter earlier today.

Its a video of Favors while on his Jr Jazz tour, interacting with the fans (kids) and talking to the camera. Check it out if you're bored and have a few minutes. Shows of some sides of Favors' personality...he comes off really well in this video. He reminds me of Karl Malone for some reason when he talks... I think it might be his accent.

Highly recommend you watch.. as a Jazz fan during these dry times (the offseason).

I think he actually enjoys Utah. I think there's a good chance he plays his whole career here.

Great video. Thank you for posting.

Almost half way through the 1st of 2 bleak months.

Keep posting stuff like this, and it will go a little faster.

Thank you

Thnx for posting, also makes more sense of keeping the bucket of chicken away from Enes and that much more funny as well.

Thanks for posting this!
Haha, yeah, Keep the food away from Enes.
I was surprised to hear Derrick's pregame meal... Two foot longs and a six inch. Dang. Boy can eat too.
Found it interesting when reading the description that this isn't part of the players contract, and that they do it voluntarily. That's pretty cool.
Derrick seems to be a really good guy. Hopefully he can be our next All Star, and finish out his career as a Jazz Player.
Oh, and Derrick, you need to keep working on the Golf game

I think their contract "requires" them to do community work.

From the article linked to in the OP:

People would assume this sort of thing is written into a player’s contracts. It’s not. Favors volunteered to go on this trip and travel up and around an entire state.

I'm impressed. (I also would have assumed it was in the contract.)

Apparently we need to incorporate Favors' half court shot into the offense.

Wow. The clip with shot after shot falling in was amazing. I wonder how many shots got edited out.

(And giving the kid back his dollar was very cute.)

Yeah, if he hadn't given it back it wouldn't have been pretty. Of course they would have edited that out. As for it being under contract, yeah, it is probably, but he still enjoyed it and it occurred to me that it gave him an opportunity to see the beautiful scenery across Utah in the hopes that he falls in love with it here. And he put his heart into it, which probably isn't always the case.

Very fun to see. Will Corbin allow Favors to take 2-3 running half-courters a game?

So many unanswered questions.....

On a serious note, glad to see him enjoying himself.

well this really made my day. He doesn't seem different from those kids he is still too young. I wonder if there is a Demarre video too.

Great video, really impressed by how well he interacts. I remember meeting Karl Malone for the first time in 1987 at one of these Jr Jazz camps. Dude just found out he didn't make the all-star team. Needless to say he wasn't in a good mood. He even yelled at parents with crying infants to "shut dem kids up!!!".

Classic Karl.

Favors is going to continue to win people over with his attitude.
