According to NBA teams in his draft range, Kanter hasn't helped himself with the way he's choosing to educate them about his abilities. His preference appears to be to leave teams in the dark and force them to make a decision based on limited information, which has frustrated them quite a bit from what they're saying in private conversations.

Kanter has not been consistent in the way he's approached the draft process, sending mixed messages and changing strategies seemingly on a daily basis. He initially planned on not doing competitive workouts, refusing to leave his home base of Chicago to visit either the Utah Jazz (drafting 3rd) or Toronto Raptors (drafting 5th). As we've gotten closer to the draft, though, he's adapted his plans, first electing to participate fully in the NBA Combine, then traveling to meet suitors and work out competitively.

The last thing you want to do if you're a young player entering the NBA Draft is give any reason for teams to doubt you, and that is exactly what Kanter has done.

He is acting as if he and his camp have had no gameplan heading into the draft buildup. Throw in concerns about his defense, where he has put in little-to-no effort, and you have a nice little list of strikes against him.

Kanter is still a physical, imposing presence on the offensive end, but he hasn't played competitive basketball in a good while, and you have to worry about the rust factor.

The big man, who almost played for the University of Kentucky, has a lot of talent and upside, but he is far from the perfect prospect.

If Kanter slides in this draft, don't be shocked, because the warning signs are there.

I'm not really worried about the jazz taking Kanter at no.3

Knight and Biymobo seems like the most likely targets if we don't trade up to no.2 to grab Derrick Williams
 
I say this objectively, seriously, that this seems silly. If you're a GM, are you concerned about a prospects handlers being undecided about how he's conducting interviews? You are going to take the best PLAYER available. Now, the 'rust' factor, defense .. those types of things can and should be of great concern, but how a player's handlers arrange workouts and interviews would be minimal, if it were me.

By the way, I can argue my own point, but I'm simply saying if I were a GM I'd be less concerned about 'where' we're meeting, he's not competing at the combine .. now he is .. I'd shrug that off and make my determination as to whether or not the kid can play ball at the level of a number 3 pick.
 
People are silly if they're basing much on interviews. If teams based anything on interviews then Jason Kapono and Kyle Korver would have been drafted over Lebron James in 2003.
 
Share alot of your feelings on Kanter, Prodigy, but don't think this - or much of anything that will happen from now until the draft will change peoples' minds. If you really like Kanter, this isn't going to change your opinion and if you don't like him then reports of a good workout aren't going to be enough either.
 
I watched the vids posted by Givony, and I have to say that Kanter looked pretty bad on defense. If Jazz fans disliked Boozer for his defensive deficiencies, then Kanter’s defense will be shredded to pieces by both fans and opponents alike. The effort was so bad, I don’t think I could ever draft someone who acted that way in any competitive environment (even though it was “just a couple of high school games”). It looked like a dad playing basketball with his kids, and not wanting to hurt his kids or make them look bad, so he just stood there. Never again, do I want to watch that kind of effort on this Jazz team. I would much rather have Jonas or Bismack hustling like crazy-men out there than go back to having another guy who scores 20 and gives up 30.
 
A week ago he's moving up, and could be taken 2nd overall. This week he's sliding.
I don't take too much stock in this.

Jonathan Givony(draftexpress) always talks bad things about enes kanter, i think that how much he got for talk bad things about enes kanter , please read his all writes , he is not positive about enes kanter , espnsport says enes pick no 3 nbadraft.com pick no.3 mydraft.com pick no.3 nba.com pick no.3 but draftexpress first pick no.8 later pick no.6 ( because washington wants enes kanter so much ) im asking you guys that who belives draftexpress and jonathan givony
 
Givony is obviously trying to start a genocide against all Turkish people. It's so clear now!

No doubt Givony is more down on him than most of the rest. Will be very surprising if he does not go in the top 4. Nice to hear how Kanter did against T Thompson and Morris, but that might remain hush hush.
