Y'all are acting like this it's so obvious that Kanter is better than Knight. Its not! Many mocks have Knight listed in front of Kanter. Not everyone is high on Kanter.

That may be true. But Irving, Williams, or Kanter could all be the #1 pick right now.
No one would ever pick Knight as their #1.

I honestly think the majority of people who want Knight on here are blinded by the success of Williams, Paul, Rose, Rondo, Westbrook, and other young points and think it's some foregone conclusion that Knight will be the next in line. I hate to tell you but there can only be so many great point guards and Knight has not shown the skill or athleticism that each of the aforementioned players have. Great, he can shoot better than Rondo and Westbrook. But that's about it.

Well, often the pro-Knight side cites the bleary-eyed, idealized future - while they disregard Kanter's actual, productive past. I think you hit it right on the head when you mentioned the void left by Deron. Hey, it was fun having a great PG for a few years and I'm not against getting one someday. But if it's Knight you better cite something more than "he's only 18!" You're basing your whole argument on potential that many don't see him ever realizing. He'll be fine. But not lottery good.

I also like your thinking of at least drafting Kanter (because he has the most value at 3) and then fielding offers for him (or another big on the Jazz roster).

Knight moved to 3 after the lottery was sorted out. Many "experts" say the Jazz need a PG after trading away Dwill. -- forgetting they got Harris in return. Stupid experts.

I agree the Jazz will need to get a future PG but they don't need to draft one this year necessarily. Only if he's a stud. Irving maybe. Knight no.

Who the hell is going to pick Kanter #1?

Well who knows?

Irving isn't taking part in the Combine - is he that much of a lock at #1?

Cleveland may decide that they'd rather have Knight as their future PG. Also their front court is pretty thin.

So why not take Kanter at #1 - then take Knight at #4?

Isn't that possible?

I think we need a future C just as much as we need a future PG. I just don't think Kanter is a center, or the kind of center we need. I think Knight is the PG we need though.

Jalen Rose mentioned this. He might've said Cleveland should draft Williams 1st and then draft Knight 4th though. But yeah, Cleveland can take either Williams or Kanter and still have a PG at 4. How likely is it that Minny and Utah take PGs - passing on either Williams or Kanter at 3?

He sounds like he's far ahead of a lot of guys as far as the mental aspect of the game, basketball IQ.

That's what excites me, he may be young but he shows a lot of maturity for his age.

DX Twitter updates as of recent are talking about scouts not being blow away by Kanter, scouts aren't as impressed with fluidity or post moves as they thought they would be.

Agreed again, from what i've seen Kanter is more of a PF than a C.

Well Jazz played Favors at C a couple of times last season with Millsap because he has the wingspan and the athleticism to do so.

I don't think it's outside the realm of possibility to play Favors as the defensive C and Kanter as the offensive force at PF. They can switch and change for different match-ups.
