enes the next superman?

I feel like this thread started out about comparisons of enes to dwight howard.... then the thread got jihadded or something

I know I'm gonna bash Kanter, because, he will give some of his money to the community which is trying to change Turkiye, they already did it at some degree BTW, and this money will be spent to fight against Ataturk's Turkiye.

Anyway screw Kanter. Gobert iz da man. He will be Dwight.

What makes you think of Erdoğan as a role model?

Turkey's economy is booming at unprecendent levels (for Turkey) despite the most of the rest of the world is going through a recession. Him talking against the injustices of Israel. He is liberal economically but conservative socially which is exactly what I am.

I respect the reasons you've stated but you should search more for those reasons on Erdoğan's side, because what you've said are only his words. Turkey's economy is not doing well. Most of the means of national wealth are dealt for nothing by the time we speak. That is something, no kind of power holder political party would do. You don't get rid of your tools that you make a living of. As a result of that, the current account deficit has boosted in his reign. His anger in Davos was pure out of personal nerve patience. I was like "wow" when I saw him on Davos but his after actions brought me down. He acted like he supported Muslims, but tried to took care of anyone who was against him whether if they were Muslim or not. He actually used the word "My power (iktidarım)" in an interview that was only made to ease him down after the protests began. That reflects his mentality. The representative democracy in Turkey is not a good one. Actually it is one of the worst if you compare the country to the others using the election threshold percentages. Erdoğan and his party took great advantage of it. I didn't understand how he is liberal economically.

guyz lets not get political, please!
I don't care about the lifestyle of individuals, as long as mine is respected and not interfered with.

OK I'lll shut up right now.

I am a mere wikipedia scholar when it comes to Turkey and economy but if what wikipedia says is true https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turkey_economy Turkey is doing pretty good economically. I forgot what year it was either 2011 or 2010 but Turkey's economy was ranked in the top 10 fastest growing economy in the world. Turkey's inflation rate is at a historical low. I really don't see how/where it states Turkey's is selling its natural resources, most of Turkey's economy is from textiles/tourism/agricultural products etc.

Turkey Economy depends on the money that comes from investors from the foreign countries who make investment on Turkish treasury bills with high income return and investors who make money from the exchange rates. The industrial growth is below the average except building constructions and tourism. Hiving off all public assets have been providing some money for the balance, but as all economists know it's just temporary solution. In last 10 years, the current accound deficit has reached the maximum level which means Turkey can not export well enough to survive but depends on all inport. For balancing the situation, PM Erdogan has made all stuff taxable such as cellular, internet, gas, petrol etc. Do you know Turkish people use the most expensive internet? or most expensive Petrol? Or one of the most expensive electric? And this is just the economy part, no need to mention about human rights, corruptions, press on the opposionists. He's just an ordinary type of guy who wanna make Turkish Republic and modern life to middle eastern type

TBS getting completely dairy-queen'd by the Turkish jazz posters.

FWIW, I barely understood what you guys were talking about.

Lemme see if I get this straight: Enes supports a faction of Islam, that is very conservative, and anti-reformation in terms of where Turkey is today?

TBS is not far from the truth actually for Turkish economy is not really doing that bad!
It is due to strict austerity measure in public expenditures, that allowed this, and privatization that was relly kickstarted by a certain Kemal Dervish who is not an islamist at all.
:)
so screw politics and personal life of EK (except those party chicks. We may need more photos of those beauties )

I don't know where you are getting this but Turkey's debt has gotten much lower according to this https://www.google.com/publicdata/e...y=gd_pc_gdp&hl=en&dl=en&idim=country:tr:de:uk
(Germany and United Kingdom also shown to show comparison). Perhaps I am reading the graph wrong which is possible.

Turkey's inflation rate really decreased.

I don't see having foreign investors to be a negative as it helps develop the country and gets things going. If someone invests a lot of money into Turkey they obviously are going to try and make it succeed in order to collect profits on the investment,

It is not like Turkey is selling off its natural resources to provide a temporary boost to the economy, it is using money to invest develop its private and public sectors.

He's getting there by telling the price of oil in Turkey which pretty much is the origin product for every other market pricing and the astronomic taxes that are constantly being put on the public's shoulders. Those taxes are the result of a bad economical situation drown in a big account deficit, an economy that is affected by the foreign investers' each fart and the investers that bail as soon as the **** even gets close to the fan, which in the last couple of months boosted the US Dollar from 1,80 to just above 2,00 Turkish Liras. And the economy is so dependant on inport means that every time that happens, the prices go really up opposing to the wages people earn. The poorness threshold in Turkey is high above the minimum wage it's like they're mocking the poor when they're announcing the poorness level. Therefore, the inflation numbers stated by the government are not reflecting the true inflation and expensive life many people are living.

It is not like Turkey is selling off its natural resources to provide a temporary boost to the economy, it is using money to invest develop its private and public sectors.

PM Erdogan sold all the government assets which are perfect profitable too low to his shareholders. It's really just seen in 3rd world countries, the depredation word is not enough to describe it. The telecom of the Turkey was sold nearly 6 bilion dollars for 25 years and guess what? In 2 years, the oger tour who got the all communication basics (Phone systems, Internet etc) earned this money in 2 years. So YOU GIVE THE PRESENT TO THE COMPANY AND SELL YOUR ALL COMMUNICATION BASICS FREE FOR 23 YEARS. Beside of telecom; The mining in Turkey, petrol and gases searching, all the highways, railways has been sold too low, that's why even though most of the privatization done too long ago, the judging process still continues (Sure if the judgement system in Turkey is independed and may decide without orders of Erdogan)

As you make objection about investors, you do not know about the economy. If your whole economy depends on the foreigner investors and income returns of your papers and not on your industry, this means you actually do not have freedom. In any financial crisis or any blackmail of big investors, you gotta do all their dirty works. The another source for Erdogan is irrational taxes on poor folk. Are you aware of Erdogan's tax system? He puts taxes over taxes and calls it luxuary taxes such as INTERNET AND CELLULAR. You think internet and cellular is luxuary in 2013? Erdogan thinks.

PS: Try to google wikileaks documents about Erdogan and Swiss Banks. He's one of the richiest person in the world. Guess how? His son has got 2 ships valued totally 16 milion dollars. And Erdogan says: So what? You work and buy anything you wanna bla bla bla... Really feel sad for you that Erdogan is your role model, hope once you search enough and become not biased one, you can understand that he's just dealer used by big countries who also uses the religion to persuade uneducated people.

You do realize that the legacy of Che Guevara is poverty and suffering.

You call it poverty and suffering, i call it honour, nobility and nonstop fight against imperialism. I also wonder if you think the same way as some American still think USA brought peace to Vietnam, Korea, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria etc.
