Well, I said that Kanter missing NT is good thing as I just do not see them using him at all. Look at Asik for example - 2 freaking FG ( and he made both). Ilyasova, Preldzic and Turkoglu combined 5-30 FG.
Maybe Kanter had that vibe last time he played for Turkey - veteran "stars" doing whatever they want and ignoring post players. Turkey needs to rebuild, say goodbye to Hedo and build around young unselfish guys. Just my 2 cents.
 
If Montenegro just had Pekovic they would be serious dark horse in this championship.

I see where you are coming from but Aşık is one of the worst post players on the offense, that's why I'm OK with not feeding him on the post. He is good at P&R but we lack guards to play it.

With Kanter at least we would give him the ball down low and expect something. I think this time, in this tournament, it would be different with Kanter because, had he come to the NT last time, he'd be our main player by now.

Watching Croatia-Spain now... doubt Tomic will ever come to NBA. Just to skinny and narrow upper body, he would get killed in the paint here.

Wow that Spain game is lobsided. Horrible Donaghy-style refereeing helping of course.

never said I did. They just increase the gap in score. Especially early in the game, there were horrible reach ins, illegal screens and hooking from Spain that wasn't punished. When Croatia grew increasingly frustrated and tried to adapt to the refs interpretation of the rules, they got called off.
But the difference should be more like 15-20 instead of 25-30
 
Couple thrilling endings, Montenegro and Ukraine both complete comebacks and win by 1 pt in last seconds - interestingly enough both teams won on last second free throws by naturalized Americans Rice and Jetter. Greece on the other hand blow out Sweden.

Also Macedonia's leading scorer is American. Not sure why McCalleb has not tried coming back over to the US.

They beat us many times, Germany can play very well sometimes although they have limited players.
 
Croatia was horrible against Spain and I knew they would be.

Slovenia having hard times right now against the Czechs, France is down against Germany, Lithuanians have horrible back court like Turkey, Russians are miserable now against crippled Italy....

Man, this is maybe the weakest Eurobasket of the last 50 years.

Serbia is up on Lithuania by 6 after half. So far it has been very fast pace and perimeter oriented game.

JV is unlucky, he could thrive with Saras. Btw why don't they try DMO at 4 with JV, I'd prefer DMO to chuck from the perimeter rather than the guards.

Ahh, Nenad Krstic btw, such an underrated player.
 
Yeah Kristic is perfect for European basketball, combination of post up play and mid range jumper plus mastered flopping to perfection.
