What's new

Eurobasket 2013

Travis Diener is Italian? lol, so many naturalized americans in this tourney I already lost count. So far Turkey making their jumpers and leading 12-8

7 assists by Tomic? Damn. Wish he would bring his *** over already.

But besides passing he was not that impressive. Was totally outmatched against M.Gasol in game vs Spain and would play outside of the paint in NBA most of the time. Latvia has no quality bigs and yet he grabbed only 2 reb. Since he is neither 3 point threat nor good paint protector/shot blocker I do not see him helping Jazz in any significant way. I think Gobert has way more to offer then Tomic IMHO.

AKMVP right on this dala, we should fob him to bobcats, twolves or raptors in a trade for some assets.

7-0 Italy series at the end of the quarter, Italy lead the first Q 22-19.

Edit: 12-0 series for Italy, 26-19.

Will rep when possible

bad call here by refs, ball went out of Melli's leg... What's funny he protested it the most. Come one man, be a good sport at least - you obviously felt ball touching your leg.
In general officiating in Eurobasket has been iffy at best so far. Lets hope it improves during elimination rounds.

We can't rebound and our paint defense is horrible but Aşık is still on the bench!

*cough* J.R. Holden, sole reason Russia won something on international level *cough*

Diener has Italian roots afaik. I think an uncle or sth has Italian citizenship.

Btw: Germany losing to Belgium by 12 after winning vs France...Unreal!

I think you forgetting fellow Jazzman who was way bigger reason Russia won something in international level;). 2011 Eurobasket and 2012 Olympics Holden did not play for Russia BTW.

2007 buzzer beater?
I don't know 2012 was a 3rd place solely on draw and injuries and 2011 a 3rd @ eurobasket(who cares?). But I can understand your enthusiasm. Just be honest. And J.R. Holden was a big influence on Russia's international success lately.

Oh yeah, I am not denying Holden's influence in 2007 gold medal game. But without AK Russia would have never won any medals in international competitions.
Citizenship rules in most European countries are quite lax, thus decent but not great foreign players who never played for their home country have great chance to shine in international competitions while playing for their new "homeland". McCaleb, Kelati, Rice, Holden, Diener, Kaman would have never made team USA roster, thus I am totally ok with them playing for their new countries - improves overall quality of Eurobasket a lot.

Italy is shooting 61% from 3pt land. Hard to beat any team when they on fire like that.

Funny how it works in team ball, Datome yesterday had 25 pts, today 0. But 4 other Italians have 14 pts +.

It's over for Turkey.

We have to win the all three games left to only have a chance but there is no way in the hell we can beat Greece.

It's over.
