Exum Injured

I'm just chilling to see what the Jazz say after they take a look.

Though Dante's young enough that he can come back and be near 100%, my one fear is that this will set him back mentally from attacking the rim in the future knowing that one step cost him a year off his basketball life.

This really sucks. I wasn't a fan of Exum before we drafted him and even though his rookie year was really rough stats wise, I've grown to really like his game. If it's any kind of ligament tear then he'll be out basically the entire season, And what I worry about the most is how we recovers from a torn ACL. A lot of athletes lose their speed, agility and burst after an injury like this. Exum's biggest thing was his speed and agility. He COULD be a completely different player...not to mention what this does to his attitude and mentality of being aggressive.
I'm dying in anticipation on what his injury is

What were the differences between Rose's acl and Adrian Peterson's? I've heard its how much of the miniscus is preserved. If there is no cartilage damage you come back 100% but if there is cartilage damage, you struggle with it long term.

Somebody can explain me why the Jazz allowed Exum to play such a worthless friendly games with his national team, especially after his ankle injury in the SL! I know the Jazz want that he gains experience with playing time but I think they did a levity.

Most likely he would have torn it anyways.

According to what theory?

That is like saying that if I were in a car accident on my way to work this morning, and I say I wish I had gone a different route to avoid it, saying I would have had a car accident anyway. That makes no sense.

You've been very solid throughout this thread but this is quite a bit off and hyperbole. I think I know what you're saying. That his body type, bone structure, what have you, made him more predisposed to injury. However, this is pure speculation. He went 20 years without a major injury like this and like many of these injuries, it may just be a freak thing.

Will Australia play an official FIBA competition this summer? I can understand the Nba players that are joining their national teams to prepare the EuroBasket 2015 in September....but risking injuries for worthless friendly games no!

I think the Nba should follow the Nhl and letting their international players joining their national teams just for big events like World Cup and Olympics and not in exhibition games!

Read the long *** post by Dalamon on the increased rate on injuries. It is an accumulative thing, and not just the result of a single play or movement.

Not sure how popular this is but I believe this is the best option for a starting line up.

I'm thinking the same. Burks will need some serious coaching to grasp the position but he has played pg before and I think his court vision/passing is under-rated (and underutilized since that has not been what he has been asked to do very often).
I like the idea of having your best players on the court together as much as possible

Well since it was a non contract injury then it shouldn't scare him from attacking. It could have happened simply dribbling the ball up the court or while guarding a player on defense.

It's not necessarily Burks playing PG it's the fact that Hayward, Burks and Hood have all displayed the ability to play with the ball in their hands and run the offense (Burks to a lesser degree). The real question is, who will defend the PG position? It's not like you're going to get a massive drop off from any of those 3 defending the PG. All are better or equal to what Burke can do defensively.
