Divorce is always tough... But it's always less painful when it's quick.
Get rid of AK.
Get rid of AK.
So how do you explain his stats?
His real stats or the ones you made up?

11 points and 5 rebounds while missing 18 games this season and once again being a complete liability on the offensive end in a contract (motivated) year doesn't exactly scream resignage.
Quite honestly, AK doesn't fit on this team anymore. We need shooters to help keep the lane clear for Jefferson, Millsap, and Favors. AK's "talents" are better suited for a team that plays fast, can't shoot, and run the ball up the court for lots of dunks (like the Suns or Warriors).
so how do you explain his stats?
I remember that - actually AK was on full-on whiny moody teenager mode and was actually threatening to go back to Russia if he didn't get more touches. There was no talk of him getting less money - per the CBA, that's not allowed - but he would've had to have accepted a $0 buyout (a la Fisher) to go play in Europe. He wasn't doing it to help out the Jazz, he was helping out AK.Take it for what its worth but Locke was saying today that AK told Larry Miller a couple years back to completely re structure his contract, trade him or let him go overseas but for some reason it fell through. AK wants to stay here and Locke thinks AK will want to repay this Jazz and will probably except a contract lower than 5 mil.
I don't like AK really at all but if you think CJ is a bargain at 4 mil I'm pretty sure AK is a better bargain at 4 mil. I hate how injured he gets but you got to admit when he plays good he is great for the team, only thing is he rarely does that anymore. He can be the back up 3 and give him a 4 mil contract for 2 years with a 3rd year option. I'm sure he'll take it if he wanted to help out the franchise a couple years ago and offered to give up all that money he was supposed to be owed
Wouldn't it make more sense to take whatever we were going to offer AK and offer it to Battier? I'm guessing most would scoff at that idea, but Battier actually does everything that we've delusionally convinced ourselves AK does.

-and what he thinks of Jimmer...
What stats did I make up?
Hey gents, I work at KSL.
On Sportsbeat Sunday, AK's with us to talk:
-Pending free agency and the "hometown discount"
-what happened between DWill and Sloan at halftime of the Bulls
-Hayward's development
-and what he thinks of Jimmer...
To me the biggest issue with AK now is his injuries. I think they've had more to do with his taking off games than people realize. I remember he started having problems after he hurt his hand or wrist at the end of 2004, I think it was, and it affected his shooting the next season for a long period of time, not sure which year it was. But after that, he seemed to repeatedly get injured. It's not that the talent has gone, it's his physical ability that has been hampered by the injuries. He doesn't move as fast or jump as high, and even less when he's injured and it seems like he's injured more often than not now.
