What's new

Favors agent says they are open to an extension:

This is one reason why Favors is one of my absolute favorite players on the team. Not only is he pretty dang good, but he is a pretty great guy. I actually met him at the airport back in august and talked to him for awhile, he was super friendly. I wouldnt expect many NBA players to be as friendly as he was

Doing an extension for Favors allows us to restructure and frontload his contract. If he is amenable to that, it would mean a lot down the road for holding the team together.

If anyone on the team would be willing to do that its Favors...Pretty sure when he signed his extension he wanted to make sure his deal wouldn't stop the team from keeping their core young players

His health concerns me a little bit. Was beat up end up last season. And already beat up before start of this year. Love him as a player. Hope his health returns.

Me too. Hate to say it cause i love his game and his attitude but i worry very much about his back.

Of course he is. Favors is so injury-prone that he better garantee some money before people realize that he'll never be a bona fide all-star, that he cannot develop much further because of his physical ailments.

What's amazing is Favors turned 25 a few months ago. And from what I saw in the preseason he looked more assertive. If he gets healthy, for him to be 24 PPG and 10+ RPG is very realistic.

That's a bit optimistic don't u think. This team is stacked with scorers and he's never shown to be a double digit rebounder all be it close.

His scoring average has gone up every season, he's entering his prime, and Jazz defense will translate into offense. Plus if he continues to develop his jumper (which didn't exist a few seasons ago) that's just icing on the cake.

He hasn't missed all that many games in his career. The last 4 years he's played 77, 73, 74, and last year 62. By comparison Hayward has played 72, 77, 76 and 80 last year.

Back on topic, if he is willing to take an ext to help the team keep these guys than they better do it.

They better sign that extension quick before he loses more games to injury. Otherwise the value will just continue to drop. Sell high.
