Favors and Hayward added to team USA

I remember when DWill came back from the 2008 Olympic team, he looked like a complete All Star from borderline All Star that season even though he only got scrub minutes.

Wasn't it right around this time that he became a douche? Or was he born that way?

I feel the need to ask here; what was your previous username? A couple months ago I first saw your name and you had many thousand posts, to which I assumed you had converted from some other name.

Just fantastic, unbelievably awesome news on so many levels. First, great for both of our guys, but I'm much more excited for Hayward. A week or whatever it is playing against a bunch of alpha dogs at his position is exactly what he needs. A chance to guard and play the Lebrons, Wades, and Kobes hours a day? That's tremendous.

I was wondering the same thing. Until a couple weeks ago I had never seen his name before either.

Part II: I don't know how big this is in the grand scheme of things, but Harden's going to be there right? So will our old pal Deron. And in general, they get in tighter with the up and coming players. If they can make a little statement out on the floor (and I know Favors will), then it can't hurt our chances in 13.

Part III: My most minor argument. Personally, I despise Duke. And I hate Coach K passionately. But I don't deny the guy is a great coach. I also assume their will be some top shelf assistants there. I always like it when players get the benefit of outside coaching. I also assume that Favors and Hayward will at least get something out of the superstars, but that's gravy.

Hitler's reign is coming to an end.

Coach K would be huge for Hayward. In fact, Hayward is the prototypical player of what Duke looks for.

/White.

He became a douche the year after. Pretty sure a lot of it had more to do with Boozer, Korver, Mathews, Maynor, Brewer all leaving. That and D Will was a pick and roll gaurd, but Jefferson is terrible at slashing.

I think they were supposed to both participate in Summer Leagues.

I guess it's a honor; but speaking strictly as a Jazz fan, would you rather have Favors/Hayward ride the pine for Team USA or get starter minutes and be the focal points of their offense in the Summer League.

praciting with the best players in the NBA or practicing with scrubs.... i pick team USA.

Bodhi, I honestly have no clue. I was thrilled to hear this news, and I still am. Practicing against the likes of LeBron, Durant, Melo, Paul...........this is honestly amazing experience for our young guys. Think of how much they're going to learn, especially in terms of learning how to defend/score against the best of the best. God...and people would rather have them playing a few games against players from the D-League...

EDIT: This post is nauseatingly reminiscent of Carolinajazz. Someone kill me now.
Start the reactor.

Dwill is not a douche. You are. Dwill's attitude was great. I didnt see a problem.

He was douche to me when I was getting a jersey signed at a season ticket holder autograph "party."

It was a party if you consider standing outside the ESA for 1 1/2 hours so that I might be close enough to the front to get more than Deron's autograph, then running straight to Deron's table, then stand in that line for 45 min (which was great and only because I already waited outside for so long), then watch Deron smile and flirt with the high school chicks in front of me, then lose the smile when I step up and roll his eyes when I said it didn't matter if he signed in silver or black, shove the jersey back at me without looking at me and then warmly welcome the next person in line. I'm really not sure what I did wrong. Probably being an overweight white guy in my 30s with my far from super-model looking wife. I mean, Deron is just cool like that.

You know why he rolled his eyes at you?

Because you are a grown man asking another man for his autograph. I roll my eyes at you for doing that. Plus, what do you expect. You are just another person in a long line of people asking for an autograph. Im sure he was burned out and probably wanted to go home. I would hate signing autographs too. He is just a normal guy who just wants to ball. Not sit at a table, sign a bunch of autographs, and kiss a bunch of fans asses. Thats got to be hard to sit through all that. It takes a lot fake smiles and laughs to get through that. I couldnt do it. I would stand up and yell at all the idiot losers standing in line and say I am only signing kid autographs. Grown men, go home.

I can't sympathize with any justification for a player being a douche bag that has to do with working conditions. When I was younger I worked temp jobs. One of the most enjoyable ones was screwing the caps on fishfood all day long. It sucked, but I was there temporarily and able to leave at any given moment. The regular employees needed the job and thus had it permanently. Heaven forbid Deron have to be chipper to see people who are willing to stand in line for hours to have him write his name. These guys have it really good, and this is a part of their job. They can choose to treat people poorly, and thus they are douches.
