14 or 15 would have been fine, but as @Ron Mexico pointed out, we overpaid a little bit to get the second year non-guaranteed. We are not using our salary cap anyway so 2 or 3M extra doesn't make a difference. We are going to use our MLE instead

So we want to go over so we can offer the MLE like many other teams, so next year we can offer a max to Klay like half the league, hmmm, I guess I don't really see the advantage in those scenarios.

Bargains come later. We don't even know if we have a roster spot yet... and you don't know who they are talking with. they are generally pretty quiet... and then things pop up when they are done.

There are only like 6-7 that can/will use their full mid-level and the Jazz is one of the most attractive ones. Most teams are too close to luxury tax territory to even consider using it.
