If you watched the last 3 games Mitchell really struggled to find any rhythm early on, I think this is simple because of the god awful lineup that Quin keeps trying to make work.
1. The lane has just been clogged, and the fact Rubio is the worst shooter in the NBA turns every Mitchell drive to the basket into a triple/quadruple team. Pair this with the fact that Ruby and Favors can't catch a ball to save their life and you got your self a recipe for disaster.
2. Rubio's shooting is so abysmal that the opposing team's best defense on Rubio is to just let him shoot. Why is this a problem? Well the PNR is a total **** up, but even more so it hurts Mitchel because the defender who is on rubio can fly out and obstruct Mitchell's drives. Mitchell is good enough to circumvent this problem usually, but now you throw favors and gobert,2 players who can't make an outside shot to save their life.
3. Now you throw in a player like Rudy, who yes is a great defensive player is quite brutal in trying to receive a pass. More than likely he is going to fumble the ball and lose it. Why is this important? well if you watch the Hawks game you can clearly see the gameplan is to just
A) let Mitchell try to pass it off the the bigs(who can't catch a ball)
or
B) leave rubio open to brick as many shots as possible.
4. Joe Ingles, yes....JOE ****ing Ingles is not helping him either. Ingles refusing to shoot is just the tip of the ice berg. He's a total cart horse on offense. His movement without the ball is piss poor. He moves like a cart horse and most of the players are much quicker than him. When he's not making shots or refusing to shoot the offense becomes a disaster.
The clippers film room on twitter pointed this out a while back and everything he said is 100% true.
