Feeling Better About This Team

To much outside noise about Donovan to NYC. I would do what Denver did is and get a bunch of Knicks players and Picks for him because he never going to win anything here. Ball dominant players like Carmelo, TMac, Donovan don't when in playoffs and we can decide to cut the connection because if it comes a couple years from now and he walks out Jazz will look so bad because we all know how so many will act.. Hayward departure will look minor compared to Mitchell and Us Jazz fans will not look good. This team is not a Final caliber team. Warriors,Suns are both clearly better teams and if Nuggets get Jamal or MPJ back, just one of them comes back they are better built for playoffs with Jokic.

Get rid of American players and build around Rudy and other international players as the core because foreign players are more loyal than Americans today. Don't see Giannis, Jokic,Luka wanting a "Bigger Market".
Fully Healthy Warriors and Suns are better - yes.

But neither the Warriors or Suns are fully healthy right now. Suns without CP3 are not better than the Jazz. Warriors without Draymond are maybe slightly better than Utah.

Nuggets banking on Murray and MPJ coming off major injuries with less than 20 games left and contributing are not better than the Jazz.

There is absolutely no reason right now the Jazz should not be able to make the WCF if the Warriors and Suns dont get CP3 and Draymond back at close to full health.

Ball dominant players win in the playoffs all the time. Jordan, magic, steph, durant, lebron, kahwi, etc etc etc.
You want your best player to dominate the ball. Cause they are your best player. Donovan dominating the ball is a big reason why we have won in the playoffs. I certainly dont want royce or clarkson or someone other than donovan with the ball the most in the playoffs

Steph not ball dominant tho.

I swear, it seems like ever since Quin's been here, we almost always play our best basketball of the season during the month of February. Not sure why exactly.

European players all likes to shoot they play zero defense. Rudy and giannis are exemptions but man, alot of them can't defend.

I'm honestly still not sure how to feel about the team. There's a part of me that thinks we could make a deep run to the conference finals or possibly even the finals, and then part of me feels like there's a chance we get beat in the first round.

True, but I absolutely love how our roster is constructed this year. Best team on paper ever, so deep! And Whiteside is the perfect antidote for when Gobert starts getting knocked around. I really feel like those guys feed off from each other.

I'm so glad that Clarkson played like he did, but it showed me that we desperately need another guy who can manufacture points. Conley and Bojan were completely taken out of the game for long stretches yesterday. Phoenix's length and trapping of Donovan limited his opportunities and we didn't capitalize on his passing on the 4th as well as we should have.

Rudy and Whiteside did a phenomenal job of rebounding the offensive glass giving us much needed 2nd chance points. Clarkson played as well as he has all year. Chris Paul was out, and we barely won. I'm happy to win, but we got work to do.

Warriors have just lost 5 of their last 7 games, and their remaining schedule has some tough matchups. I'm starting to wonder if the Jazz can catch them in the standings. A 2nd-rd matchup with Memphis should be advantageous if the Jazz can get it.

Getting beat in the first round would not be a surprise. 6-7 legit teams in the West. I think making it out of the 2nd round will require a lot of things to tip our way.

I’m not too worried about seeding… would be more worried about matching up with Denver in the first round if Murray is somewhat healthy. Would be nice to avoid Phoenix until conference finals but the catastrophic first round failure is the scenario that is most concerning

I'm as curious as anyone to see what the Nuggets look like with Murray and MPJ returning. They'll have more firepower and some sorely needed depth. However, their defense might end up being terrible. Murray, Barton and MPJ are mediocre defenders, Forbes doesn't defend, and Cousins has been getting real minutes behind Jokic

I just checked, and I was surprised to see that Denver has a 48% chance at the 5 seed and Dallas a 36% chance. I want no part of a healthy Nuggets team in the first round.

They’re coming back this year? Why haven’t I heard this before. I thought MPJ was done for the season?

Murray will be back but likely not close to 100%. MPJ was always a question mark... he doesn't scare me unless he comes back really healthy... and I am skeptical he will.

Woj reported today that Porter will be cleared for contact later this week and is supposed to return sometime mid March. Murray is still up in the air on his return but a lot of people think he may be back for the last few weeks of the season/playoffs
