What's new

First Round. Game 2. Jazz v Spurs. 5pm MST.

This is what I particularly love: Favors +7/9 minutes (5 & 5); Big Al -29/18 minutes (2 & 3). Just play the starter more and more Corbin--and also don't forget to do the same thing over and over again. I understand if we lose, but at least show some sort of ingenuity.

If Al Jeffs is going to give up rebounds and miss shots, we should play Kanter. He won't do worse than 1 - 6 and 3 rebs in 17 mins.

I'd bench Al for the entire 3rd quarter and let Kanter, Favors and Sap chew up the Spurs inside. That's our advantage.

Edit: Burks has more rebounds than Al.

Oh one more thing. No big lineup in the 1st half once again. Is Ty:Blind, Stupid, or just scared.

blind? no blind man would use the big lineup
stupid? no stupid people tend to use big guys
scared? nah scared guys would use big guys to defend them self

braindead? DEFINITELY

That's what playoffs are all about. You see all the things for real, who is your future and who is not.

Also, don't forget that our guards cannot hit crap from the three-point line (0-5), so SA is absolutely packing the paint. If Burks takes another long two, I'm going to punch the screen. He is a horrible shooter off of motion and should either drive the ball or shoot a three. Don't bail them out.

I hope KOC is noticing a key thing: your role players in the modern NBA must be able to make a 3 point shot! Unlike Carrol, Tinsley, Howard, and Watson. Spurs are always loaded with them, why can't we find any?

Another perfectly executed Phil Jackson imitation by Ty Corbin... the other team goes on a run and no timeouts are called... Except, we have dumb (Harris) and dumber (Jefferson) on our team rather than two of the best players to have ever played the game (Shaq & Kobe).

Why we aren't playing the big lineup is beyond me. If you're going to go down... At least go down swinging! Trying something new!

It's not like Howard and co have dominated the Spurs in the reg. season!

Try the big lineup! The worst we can do is lose.... Which is what we've done all year long against these guys with that "normal" lineup.

I'm not even joking when I say this: We'd be better off playing Evans over Jefferson. We need SOMETHING, someone to bring some energy onto the floor. No wonder Minnesota got rid of "Big Al".. the dude is a blackhole whether any of you like to admit it or not. I've seen it time and time again, the dude just gets flat lazy on the defensive side of the floor. On top of that, he can't get to the free throw line, he rarely boxes out, and he's too nice to his opponents. We need a leader that plays on BOTH sides of the floor.

wrong spurs system is good enough so players dont take off balance 3's
they get wide open 3's on certain spots in practice all they gotta do is practice a 1000 shots a day from those spots.
simple as that

Hint: Fesenko. It's common sense on the board +/- stats are meaningless

Can't tell if there's sarcasm there for sure. I don't think it's 100%, but when you couple that with actually watching how Favors is impacting the game even when his shot isn't falling, it's pretty hard to deny that stat for this game.

I regret playoffs over lottery. Come back and beat us, Pheonix!!!

I just think it's funny that so many people on this board WANTED this. Me, freak, and franklin were almost crucified for saying the lottery was a better option.

WTF ... Favors brings us back in the game and he subs in Al who is absolutely terrible ... only 9 minutes and no fouls. Where is Corbin 's brain???!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I completely agree. Under Sloan, they didn't fit his system and couldn't be utilized well. Now that we have a younger coach, you'd think that we could implement them into our offensive system. The problem is, we need to sign some first. It's painfully obvious we could use 1-2 players that can shoot the 3 (Matt Bonnar, Steve Novak) and really provide nothing else. Going after a player like Anthony Morrow for $3-4m a year would be a solid move this offseason.

I stand corrected then. Okay, make them shoot 1000 shots per day already!!!!!!
