Fist bump from franklin to G-Time

People who posted pre-2010 have a wildly different opinion of Franklin than the posters who just joined in the last 5 years or so.

Dude was planning to leave all along. He also wanted to hurt the Utah Jazz for whatever reason. If you want to leave just leave, don't cripple your team wasting every day of the FA time until all top guys are off the market. We could have signed PG13, Butler or Gallo, all better players than Hayward.

I agree. when he says...

I only hope that as time goes by, everyone will realize I gave every ounce of energy I have to the fans, my teammates, coaches, and front office in Utah.

I call B.S.

While always improving his game, he did seem to always have one foot out the door while he was here. Physically he gave it his all. His leadership and his lack of ingratiating himself into the community, I thought was always lacking.

Franklin* is still one of my favorite posters on this site. Guy is very intelligent and insightful. And he just straight makes me laugh.

You can be very smart and still be a but-hole. And he just gets under my skin because he intentionally tries to aggravate people, like a smart-aleck kid in school.

Yeah, people can be smart and butt-holes. Someone somewhere else called him an idiot.

But I don't think he's trying to annoy. I don't think he's trolling. I think he often is presenting the overlooked, ignored, undesirable side of an argument to fans that want none of it.

Franklin is legit one of the smartest people here. You can like him or hate him, agree with him or not, but he is not stupid.

Thanks for the support from you and everyone else but there is no need to defend my integrity to bumpkins. The only time I read a tiny weenie post is when I don't log in before reading.

As to the whole trolling bit, I find it quite childish when people can't respect when someone takes the high road. Turns the other cheek. I found the article a refreshing, adult stance. The guy has been under fire by the entire fanbase and Utah media yet he still bit his tongue and basically thanked and praised all of us for his time here.

If that trolls you then you need to grow up.

To be honest, this post didn't bother me, but it bothered a lot of other people and brought up the unpleasantness of it all once again. And I thought, why does Franklin continually do stuff like this, because this is nothing new. Why not just forget it. He's gone. If you want to root for him, then post on the Celtics site. Most of us just don't want to hear about it any longer.

I don't like to get too personal, but I don't see how you can label someone who is so consistently wrong about almost everything as "insightful".

I have to add that being easily duped by a bunch of PR garbage also doesn't come off as very intelligent.

He offers a perspective that is not common around here. He is usually far more detailed than the average poster as well. I certainly see the value in that.

Get over yourself :)

I guess it depends on whether or not you believe he is sincere. Or just trying to smooth things over and ease his conscience. I don't ever remember him saying how much he loved Utah, until he left. Now he's all about the love.

Athletes have taken the high road all the time when they've left cities and are berated by the fans of said city. One can respect that stance, but it's hardly refreshing. In fact it's the norm.

I wouldn't call it the norm. There are plenty of instances on both ends of the spectrum from former players.

Honestly, I thought after posting "I bet franklin doesn't feel like he needs me to fight for his honor." But if it makes you feel any better about it, I posted that because normally I have nothing to say about your posts or your presence here. I enjoy it. I appreciate it, but I don't have anything to add to it. With several people (many of whom I like a lot) coming at you in the last few days I wanted to make clear where I was at. For me.

I agree that looking at things from a different angle and perspective is a great idea because it encourages you to potentially look at the situation by being in others' shoes.

It's also true that actions are actions and words are exactly that, words, so that blog with words doesn't change my opinion. It shouldn't be that much of a massive effort to Look DL/Quin/some players in the eye, shake their hand and say thanks for everything, but I'm leaving.

What is also true is that Gordon gave his all whilst he was here, and I feel like the Jazz reciprocated.

I have no qualms about him leaving as his reasons were valid, even though he had valid reasons to stay too.

Anyway, we need to move on. We have a mysterious team this season which brings about a bunch of nervous but positive excitement in me!
