Following 2016 potential draftees

Has anybody ever not done well for Cal, and then done well in her pro's? I can't think of any.
Lyles? Small sample size but still

Lyles wasnt a world beater at Kentucky, but he was OK. He got limited minutes (still more than Labissiere though) because of a big man log jam and had to play out of position on a stacked team.

Skal just sucked.

Bledsoe was very meh in college wasnt he?

He started on a stacked team playing out of position. I would bet his usage rate as pretty low too. Same thing with Lyles. Started, played out of position, low usage.

Skal is different. Kentucky literally needed him (their bigs weren't very good) and he was so bad he got benched. Does he have skills? Yeah. But when push came to shove, dude couldn't perform. I'm not gonna be high on a guy like that. With that said, Cal is known for just wanting his post players to play down low, which isn't Skal'd game. Cal is a great defensive coach though, and Skal struggled there. That's concerning.

Somebody will have to play the 3 for Kentucky who is most definitely not a 3. Dr. Jones did Coach Cal forget to recruit a small forward? Will Willis play the 3 a lot? Or will they play really small ball at the 3.

He will play small with Fox, Monk, and Briscoe at times..
But I think Willis and Gabriel will take most of the minutes at SF.

Gabriel can guard but I don't think he will show a consistent perimeter shot.
Willis can drain it but is deficient on d.

So..

Any chance of a last minute grad transfer or perhaps intl player? He still has at least one scholarship to give right since Bolden went to Duke?

There's always a chance but I don't find it likely. Cal loves to showcase his freshman and this gives him the best shot at it.
Yes, we have two schollies available.

I'm not sure why Skal is a consensus lotto pick and Thon is projected out of the first round by the "experts". I'm out on guys like Skal... questionable motor/desire/work ethic are red flags that I would have a hard time overcoming.

Plus, as much as Maker is unproven, the only thing Skal has shown beyond what Maker has, was bad.

Exactly... in this case I prefer the unknown... cause the known was much worse than expected.

Was he OK though? Their stats are not that far off adjusted for playing time...

Skal has higher usage, at the same efficiency(suggests he can be better offensive player), and he's got 10% BLK% which suggests he can be better defender or at least shot blocker (I think he's better defender from day 1). His huge PF numbers are worrying, but I think with getting his body in better place would fix some of those issues.

Right with Lee transferring. Greek Freak's other brother still looks undecided. Better jump on him.

I'm okay with going into the season with;
Bam
Gabriel
Willis
Humphries
Wynyard

All 6'9 or bigger. I little thin, but not too bad.
Top 5 team, I'd say. Guard play should be great by March.

He played with much more talent, less stats to go around.
