Following 2016 potential draftees

There are multiple teams with multiple 1sts this year. I can't imagine they all want to keep all those picks. If only Burke had more value

Serious question. Does Burks have much value?
He needs to go. Doesn't fit.

I'm sure he has enough value to land a 1st, even with his injury history. If he stays healthy next year, then his value will go up even more, though; if we're going to trade him, I'd wait to package him with the GS and OKC picks next year for something better--maybe another GH level player, or possibly a 2017 lottery pick.

I dunno if Maker has the maker of the Jazz DNA that DL looks for.... I read it somewhere that he doesn't have the best people supporting him neither.

Can anyone else confirm this?
Everything I've heard says he's a very high character guy.

Wish we had a better pick in it.

Well, we should have 2 better picks (compared to this year). If you are talking about what we had (#12) I hope we don't have a better pick (unless the GS Warriors implode). Chances are we have 2 picks starting in the late teens or even both in the 20's. In that draft, 2 picks in the 20's might be better than 1 pick at 12 this year though.

I think his value is in his contract. To get a starting caliber SG that can get to the basket and finish for 11 million dollars per year will be unheard of. Guys like Allen Crabbe are going to get 13+ per year next offseason. If he can stay healthy this next year, and put up good numbers, he may be a really valuable commodity. Trade him and our pick to move up into the lottery. 2 years left on his deal at 10.6 and 11.3 will be very valuable.

Agree.
So let's play quantify.

In 2017 probably a borderline lottery pick, or package with our pick to move up to 10-12 range. Now I don't know if there would be any buyers in that range for him though. I think it will be hard to get into the lottery next year. Much harder than this year. Depends on how he plays this year. I don't want them to trade him this year though. Need to have him for wing depth. Right now we really have just Hayward and Hood that I like, although I think we see Exum/Hill on the court at the same time a lot this year.

Major props for a well thought out answer.

Our 2 first round picks (our own and GSW's) will be pretty late.
Our NYK pick should be pretty early in the second round. Followed by Detroit's second round pick and Golden State's second round pick. + our own second round pick. = 6 picks:

Total of 2 late firsts + an early second + a mid second + 2 late seconds.

Is that enough to move into the lottery? I'm not so sure.

Second round picks are about a valuable as pennies are in todays economy. Doubt they do anything to help them move into the lottery.
